A snake can affect a rat with the effect of its deadly poison.
    A hawk eats mice.
    Birds fly.

In theory, a snake could do the same to a mouse, which a hawk eats.

Also, what about snakes that aren't venomous? Can they also affect rats with their deadly poison?

    Rat. Mouse. Same thing.

Any non-gardener snake is venomous, I believe.

Not the same thing. By that logic, a porcupine and a hedgehog are the same thing too.

    You believe wrong.

Also, there is no such thing a "gardener snake." The closest I can think of is the garter snake, which is often mispronounced as "garden snake."

I had just finished editing my post when you replied. Maybe the fact that I was editing caused it?
