I'm torn between how much to say, because this a game you really want to experience without spoilers.
But let me tell you, it's FANTASTIC.
The basic premise is a Chrono Trigger-esque time travel RPG, the difference being that this game focuses on two parallel timelines, as opposed to various time periods. The goal of the game is to create a future that doesn't end with a total apocalypse.
It's a decently lengthy RPG with GREAT characters, and a surprisingly deep combat system. The combat is your typical turn based affair, but with the ability to knock enemies around a 3x3 grid, which leads to combos, as well as stacked damage. Throw in the ability to swap turns with any character, ally or enemy, and you have a simple but strategic system, which builds gradually as you level up.
The story is something special as well, not necessarily in terms of content (you deal with an evil empire and a corrupt religion, bet you can't name any RPGs with THOSE elements in them) but rather in presentation. Special mention should go to main character Stocke, who has one of the best character arcs I've ever seen in an RPG.

Oh, and the music is done by Yoko Shimomura, you may have heard of her.
    So there's that.
Oh, and it's created by a veritable all star cast of developers, including people who work on the Persona franchise.
Need more reason to buy this game?
Take a look at the metacritic page: http://www.metacritic.com/game/ds/radiant-historia
    All the reviews are green.

What's that? You STILL need a reason to buy this game?
    How 'bout this.
It was so good, Atlus actually made a second run of the game do to sheer demand, it's that awesome (and this is Atlus we're talking about, they're poor, they can't do that for every game)

    Radiant Historia.
    It's a good, good game.
    :D

It looks pretty good, may be I'll try it some time. One random thing, Yoko Shimomura also made songs for KH.
