R.o.y.a.l.

((Compared to my other rps this one is simpler, least in the beginning. Wanted one where everyone starts out in the same place and already know each other, mostly anyway. Should be interesting... Also, in the start there will only be the Reapers and Scythes, but after they pass the exam I am allowing (almost) any type of character. You can get creative and have fun with that.))

OOC Thread

R.O.Y.A.L.​

R.O.Y.A.L. - a secret organization that is above all laws and any form of government – funds the needs for all Reapers and helps keep order in the world by making sure that humans never learn of the supernatural beings that they live and work with. And for several generations they have done so with wars that the humans have never even heard of. Such as the one of the Mayans, an infamous one that no one likes talking about.​

But now they face their biggest foe – each other.​

There's corruption among their ranks and reports show that there may even be a traitor in the high ranks. Without trust, can this organization function properly? Or will it all come to an end?​

M.A.G.I.C.​

An organization that people know even less about than Royal. Royal gives them people with magical powers to train and in return they provide Royal with Scythes, partners to their Reapers. They allow the Scythes to chose their own name.​

Reapers​

The fighters for Royal. They are feared through out the supernatural community as it is rare to ever hear one being defeated – though this is mainly due to the fact as Royal prevents anyone hearing of any of their failures.​

No one knows just who these people are and where they came from. And in some cases, neither do they.​

Royal takes many people from orphanages and off of the streets per year from all around the world and puts them in a school where they will learn how to fight and survive in any situation. They're given the best of things in exchange – gourmet food, nice clothes, etc.​

Once they've proven themselves in the Rites Exam they are assigned to a city where they will live in work in until they take the Master Exam. ​

Also, even though they all started out as humans, over a few years after the Rites Exam they gain powers through their Scythes. Some Masters aren't even considered humans anymore.​

On a side note, they have been in the Royal Academy for about their entire life. So they will know how to interact with other people, but not so much with the outside world. This is why typically they go everywhere with the Master. The Master I created...well, she may not baby them so.​

Scythes​

Just like Reapers these people were also taken by Royal at a young age from orphanages or off the streets, the only difference being that they had magical powers and are handed over to Magic. And because of this they were taken to separate schools than the Reapers where they learned how to use spells that would strengthen and help the Reaper they would some day be paired up with. Also, each can summon a weapon that only their Reaper can use.​

They tend to be loyal to Magic, not so much to Royal, and the Reapers, but otherwise emotionless. It's rumored that this is because they are brainwashed but no one knows for sure. However, after some time after passing the Rites Exam they regain emotions and free thought. But sometimes they are continued to be called things rather than people by most of the supernatural community.​

Masters​

Masters are the top ranked Reapers. The best of the best, and only a handful of people pass the Master Exam per year.​

They have two choices after becoming a Master – explore the world by doing various missions for Royal or take on a Cell where they will teach Fledgling Reapers.​

They aren't considered human anymore at this point. The reason for this is because after a Scythe use their magic on their Reaper for so long the effects of some spells just never wear off. ​

Cleaners​

A group from Royal that is never seen. They clean up all messes left from the Reaper's battles and keep any failures out of public's ears while also keep all Reapers in check, even the Masters.​

New Haven​

A fictional city in the U.S.A where our characters will go after passing the Rites Exam. It's plagued with supernatural and natural crime of the like and is like a somewhat smaller New York City. Is cut off from the outside world. When you go to the outskirts of the city it gets more like a small town with very old traditions. Located near the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.​

Magic Types​

There's four major magic types. There's elemental, supporting, healing, and offensive. Each person can only use one type. It is the type they are born with and it is unheard of anyone naturally using more than one type.​

Elemental: Pretty self-explanatory. Water, earth, fire, and wind. Their magic focuses around an element which all of their spells are based off of. Each person can only have ONE element type. Very rarely can they even learn another element type and in order for your character to have two they must wait till later in the RP and/or have my permission. Don't want to have anyone with two elemental types starting off though. And their spells will be something like encasing their selves or the reaper in rock amour, or creating a wind strong enough to blow away any enemy they face. Nothing too major to start out with though. And they can't like put fire around themselves or their Reaper. That would burn them. Also, fire people have a heat resistance, water people can hold their breathes for longer periods of time, earth people can withstand more pressure ie crushing them will take more effort, and wind people can glide slightly. Their benefits may increase as time goes by.​

Supporting: They can make their Reapers stronger by increasing their strength which can allow them to jump higher and hit harder than the average person. Or they can even harden the reaper's skin to the point where they cannot be cut. The downside to this is that they cannot use their spells on themselves, but this also means all magic is rendered useless to them.​

Offensive: The opposite of supporting. Their magic focuses on weakening the enemy by causing them to go blind, poisoning them, and stuff of the like. Their magic doesn't last very long but if they were lucky enough to get teamed up with a well-trained Reaper that doesn't matter as the target should be dead before the spells wear off. Some people are immune to their spells. Like supporting magic types they are also immune to all magic.​

Healing: These people can heal any and all wounds and reverse the effects of offensive spells. Starting off I will only allow them to heal minor wounds quickly while taking a lot of time healing major wounds and being unable to heal them fully. Pain will still be there even after they healed the wound. They have a resistance to offensive type magic but they are not immune to it.​

Terms​

Royal Academy: Though it sounds like just one place it is actually various places through out the world. Typically there is at least three per continent, but sometimes there are more. It is where the Reapers are trained until they go off to take the Rites Exam. The one which our characters were at was hidden among the Rocky Mountains.
Magic Academy: Magic's school for their Scythes. The one where our characters will be from is also hidden in the Mountains only away from the Royal Academy there. Also uses Cells.
Fledgling Reapers: Reapers that have yet to pass the Rites Exam.
Reapers: Ones who have passed the Rites Exam.
Masters: Reapers who have passed the Master Exam. They either go solo and do various missions across the world or take on a Cell to teach Fledgling Reapers at an Academy.
Rites Exam: An exam the Reapers take to graduate from the academy. If they pass they are assigned to a city along with their Cell, but if they fail they are held back for another year with a new Cell where they have to take the exam again at the end of the year. If they fail too many times they are stripped of the title Reaper. Some say they become Cleaners but no one knows for sure what happens to them.
Cell: Instead of various classes Fledgling Reapers are assigned to a Cell, which normally consists of one Master and ten or fewer students. They take the Rites Exam together and live together until they pass the Master Exam.
Safe House: Each Cell is given a Safe House in whatever city they are assigned to after passing the Rites Exam. Here they live until they are reassigned or pass the Master Exam.
Master Exam: Unlike the Rites Exam the Reapers take this by themselves and only after the Master of their Cell say that they are ready to take it. When passed the Reaper goes solo. If failed they simply go back to living with their Cell. Only, each Reaper is allowed only one chance to take this exam. Rarely are second chances given out.
The Red Rose: Certain bars and clubs will have a red rose painted on their sign or on a wall. This signals for any supernatural being in the area that it is a friendly place for their kind to gather.
The Black Rose: A symbol saying that only a certain type is allowed there and violence will be used to get any uninvited people out.
The Blue Rose: A symbol telling people that the place is a gathering spot for bounty hunters. Bounty hunters are typically humans who hunt dangerous supernatural beings. Some are inhuman. Sometimes Reapers will come here for aid and information.
The Wolf: A symbol saying that Reapers are not welcomed.
Naturals: What supernatural beings call humans.
The Arena: A network of people and places where supernatural beings fight. This is illegal and Royal works to shut it down but are so far unsuccessful.

Rules

1.) No God-Molding. No taking over someone's character without their permission, no auto-hitting, killing off others without their say so.
2.) I will like to see some deaths as this RP progresses... And have the people form relationships, romantic and friendship wise. But this does not mean you can take it above the PG-13 rating.
3.) Proper grammar. “For speaking,†and for thinking. No *actions.* And capitalize properly, please. I get OCD about this. Also, I would like it if each character had their own color when you post as them, though this is not needed. All random characters that you use for plot purposes should be in white. If you wish for everyone to think they mean nothing but then have them return as an important character you must make a profile for them then. I can withhold it if you'd like.
4.) Try to be active. I understand if something happens, things happen to me often, but try not to vanish. Especially don't join but then never post. It makes me sad when people do that.

Bio: She was taken from an orphanage in California at the age of six. The year before she lost both parents in a car accident. Whether it was their fault or not remains unknown to her because she decided she never wants to know as whoever she was before is dead. Thus creating a new name for herself, Belmont being the last name of the teacher she had while growing up in the academy. After passing the Rites Exam at age 18 her cell was sent to a town in England where she stayed for only a year, becoming one of the youngest people to pass the Master Exam. After passing she couldn't chose to become a teacher as there were no open slots so she had to go do missions around the world. Not like she complained though. While solo she fell in love and had a child. That child, who was a son, was taken away from her while she was out on a mission. The only other person that knew of his existence was Kira and the father, but not even Kira knows who the father is/was. After the loss of her son she thought it was best to settle down and be able to take things slow in a safer enviroment. This is why she returned to the Academy where she grew up at and fell in love with the area all over again.
Personality: She tends to appear cold to those who do not know her well enough. She's straight to the point and after teaching her students for so long she expects them to already know what to do after a brief explanation. Is rarely seen laughing as she normally does so after everyone's left. Can't be seen as soft when a master after all. Even so, she treats her students almost as if they are her kids and she will do anything to protect them and gets serverly mad when they withhold information about someone who hurt them, like when they fear she'd go overboard and kill them.

Personality: Remains Roxy's silent partner even though all of her emotions have recovered. She is often found smiling, as she says almost everything in the world can be beautiful and every moment should be cherished like it's their last one. The biggest reason would probably be that he spends nearly every minute of his free time at The Arena, much to the dismay of those around him.
Personality: Ivan is a somewhat charismatic individual who finds himself sidetracked often with his many thoughts and curiosities. While he's rarely too serious and prefers to have fun over work, he's far smarter than he looks and often puts to shame those who would try putting him down.

Bio: Rhea lived in a poor household and with an abusive, alcoholic, druggie of a father. Her mother was always afraid of her father, usually being hit if she didn't do something "right." She remembers hearing from her mother that her father was never like this, and he only became like this after losing his job a few years back. When Rhea was old enough, her father began forcing her to work around the house and, the same as her mother, she was always hit if her father didn't like the way she did something. Eventually, it came to a point where her father was drunk one day and attempted to rape her. Luckily, Rhea was able to escape and lived on the streets for about a year before she was taken in by Royal. She has told absolutely nobody of her past, fearing if anyone were to find out, it'd only bring her shame.

Bio: When Shiki was a young boy, he lived an ordinary life with his parents. Unfortunately for him, his hometown was razed to the ground by a fire when it was attacked by supernatural beings, killing both of his parents as they tried to protect him and leaving him mortally wounded in the blaze. Luckily, R.o.y.a.l came in time to kill the beasts that attacked him and save him as well. The next day, Shiki woke up in a hospital room with little recollection of what had happened the day before, only remembering the fire and the death of this parents; everything else was a blur to him. After a few days of recovering in the hospital, a mysterious man walked into his room. The man offered Shiki a spot in R.o.y.a.l, fully disclosing what the organization was and what it did. Having nowhere else to go, Shiki accepted the offer and from that day forward, he was trained to become a full fledged Reaper.
Personality: Shiki is a very enthusiastic and optimistic person, full of good cheer and has a love for fun but he can also be very impulsive. He's the kind of person who keeps a smile on his face even in the face of danger.

Bio: She lived with only her mother as her father ditched her the moment he learned that she was to give birth to Rin. He just wasn't ready to be mature and take responsibility for a child which he helped create. Rin lived with her mother in her grandparents house for the beginning of her life. But that happy life ended when she first discovered her powers. She accidentally destroyed the house, nearly killing everyone inside. That is when Royal came and got her. After being in Magic for a time she learned that the Cleaners erased her mother's memories of her so she was glad, her mom would be able to return to a normal life. This does not mean she was not also sad. What was life to her now? She became thankful when she started losing all emotions. Her time in the Magic Academy has been erased from her memory so she may not tell anyone but will slowly return to her as time goes on.
Personality: Before losing her emotions she was always a shy, silent type who also hated herself for what she did. She lost all meaning in life and wished to forget it all. Now she is slightly happier, if that's possible. The only emotions she shows is embarrassment and slight joy after being told job well done.

Quake – shakes the ground violently enough to bring down houses.
Amour – Encases someone in rock hard enough to stop a blade from cutting them. Cannot cover the entire body yet though, and lasts for only a short time.
Pillar – Bends the ground to her will. Sometimes she can cause spikes to rise from the ground while other times she raises pillars. Normally use them to create a wall between herself and an attack or to reach higher places. Will use as an attack more often now she will be out on the field.

Bio: Ash was abandoned by his parents at a young age and teased in every orphanage they put him in because of his white hair. Though he considered it a silly reason to keep moving around, they insisted. Ash grew impaitent and tired of being told opposite things to do by two different women in the orphanage. In his frustration he burnt down the orphanage, killing everyone inside. He was left standing at a murder sight when Royal came and put him in the Magic Acadamy. Within those walls, he forgot himself and what he'd done. He wrote on a piece of paper day after day, "I will please someone." Who that someone was, he couldn't possibly know. Even now, the meaning of the piece of paper has escaped him but still it sits in his pocket.
Personality: Ash was soft-spoken at times and still had a cheerful outlook on life. The best emotion he can display now is slight curiosity.

Blaze: Sets fire to anything flammable within a 30 meter radius
Fire Wall: draws a line of fire in front of him to block oncoming enemies. Only lasts for a short time.
Heat Wave: heats up metalic objects to a point where they glow white hot.

Other: Ash is almost famous for how often jokes or others' emotions go over his head and the blank stare he gives them. He often gives one word responses.

Bio: Edge speaks nothing of his past and only gives hints that something in his past has caused him to have such a powerful hatred towards Reapers that even after supposedly becoming emotionless all traces of it could not be removed. Despite this, he sets aside his differences to work with Ivan and has a grudging respect for the Reaper.
Personality: Completely cold and callous towards the other Reapers, showing only a small amount of liking towards his own Reaper. He often insults the Reapers and is such a distant person that he does not even seem to get along with other Scythes.

Spells:

Strengthening - Boosts the physical strength of the Reaper, just as the name suggests.
Haste - Enhances the speed of the Reaper.
Protect - Causes the Reaper’s skin and bones to harden to the extent of being highly resistant to all forms of physical attacks.
Wall - Gives the Reaper a resistance to several magic types, the downside is that once it is cast, all other supportive spells cast afterwards would be rendered ineffective on the Reaper.

Other: Despite being merely a Supportive Scythe, Edge can be a frightening person just to be around as he has a heavy and dark aura about him. Ivan also attributes this to the fact that Edge is perfectly capable of holding his own in a fight.

Bio: Tesori grew up around a loving father. He lived in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood, in a normal town. However, one day his mother became gravely ill in bed with an unknown disease. She soon died afterwards. This caused Tesori's father to start drinking to bottle up his emotions. One day, his father couldn't take it a hung himself in the living room. This happened when he was 9. Soon afterwards, he was taken into a filthy orphange where he was beaten up by the older, male orphans. One day, some people had come to take him away from that dreadful place. As he grew older, he realized he had supernatural powers and has taken full advantage of them.
Personality: Before Tesori lost his emotions, he was a very kind person. He liked to help others and make lots of friends. Even when he getting beaten up in the orphanage, he would still try to be kind because that was how he was raised as a kid.

His father had loved his wife (Roy's mother), but she died while giving labor to Roy. Roy's father blamed him for her death. Roy started to learn self-defence and soon enough, his father feared him as well. Being a very ferocious bully, he was kicked out of numerous schools and didn't get a very good education. As he grew older, he couldn't hold a job and had to fend for himself on the streets. Soon enough, he was recruited by an unknown person to become a bounty hunter. He happily agreed to do so. Appearence: About half the size of normal person (could be mistaken for a 6 year old child) but has a mature body but she can still be easily be mistaken for a child. She has long blonde hair, deep blue eyes and slightly pointy ears. She has large, paper thin, delicate wings coming out of her back (Like the ones in my sig), which can be folded away and hidden. Her wings are transulcent with a purple tint. She is not girly and is seldom seen in a skirt or dress.
Bio: So much for farie's being innocent, Allianna is one tough cookie. She knows how to survive on the streets and is respected in the supernatural comunity. She is hard working and driven, she knows how to fight. She has a hates and fears royal due to them 'taking away' her parents. She will stand up for her friends, and pull her weight.
Powers: She can fly (She has wings, so of course she can), turn invisible, heal and create blinding flashes of light.

Bio: Ing was raised in the Magic Acadamy, his partner though never got along with him and they failed their Rites Exam. Parting ways, Ing refused to go back to the Acadamy. He refused to be tied down to a Reaper when he could do the fighting on his own. Ing doesn't remember, nor care to, how or why he came to Magic Acadamy in the first place. Taking up refuge in New Haven, he chose to live alone, without partner and without allies...of his kin at least.
Personality: Having been out of the Acadamy for quite a while, he's regained the ablility to feel anger to a blinding point.

Starting Point​

Our characters will be in the mountain area at a rendezvous point where they will meet the Cell from Magic Academy with the Scythes that will become their partners. Pairings will have already of been made based on skills. After they are told who they are being paired up with the Master of the Reaper Cell will tell them details of the Rites Exam, which they will then take. You could have your character fail, but it is most likely that they will pass. After passing they will be sent to New Haven (we'll skip them traveling there). After reaching there they will be shown to the Safe House and have the first day to themselves. After that their first mission as Reapers will be presented to them. They know nothing of the troubles Royal is facing.​

Bio: Stanley always felt isolated. He remembers little of his past,mostly due to repressed memories which he chooses not to remember. He strives to become a great Reaper one day, and gain the respect of others instead of feeling as though they look down on him.
Personality: Aggressive, gets sad sometimes due to his past, quick to anger.

I believe I fixed all of the typos. I also added something to the healing type magic. Both of you are accepted, but I will be adding Terra's profile when he finishes it tomorrow/later today. I'll also put it in the ooc thread that you need partners. Though...don't know if Terra is making his scythe person the reaper's partner...Should of asked him. I shall do so later then.

Bio: Ash was abandoned by his parents at a young age and teased in every orphanage they put him in because of his white hair. Though he considered it a silly reason to keep moving around, they insisted. Ash grew impaitent and tired of being told opposite things to do by two different women in the orphanage. In his frustration he burnt down the orphanage, killing everyone inside. He was left standing at a murder sight when Royal came and put him in the Magic Acadamy. Within those walls, he forgot himself and what he'd done. He wrote on a piece of paper day after day, "I will please someone." Who that someone was, he couldn't possibly know. Even now, the meaning of the piece of paper has escaped him but still it sits in his pocket.
Personality: Ash was soft-spoken at times and still had a cheerful outlook on life. The best emotion he can display now is slight curiosity.

Bio: Rhea lived in a poor household and with an abusive, alcoholic, druggie of a father. Her mother was always afraid of her father, usually being hit if she didn't do something "right." She remembers hearing from her mother that her father was never like this, and he only became like this after losing his job a few years back. When Rhea was old enough, her father began forcing her to work around the house and, the same as her mother, she was always hit if her father didn't like the way she did something. Eventually, it came to a point where her father was drunk one day and attempted to rape her. Luckily, Rhea was able to escape and lived on the streets for about a year before she was taken in by Royal. She has told absolutely nobody of her past, fearing if anyone were to find out, it'd only bring her shame.
Personality: Rhea can be a bit of a jokester and has a slight habit of taking things too lightly. However, she knows when to change her ways and when she does, she shows more of a determined attitude.

Bio: Tesori grew up around a loving father. He lived in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood, in a normal town. However, one day his mother became gravely ill in bed with an unknown disease. She soon died afterwards. This caused Tesori's father to start drinking to bottle up his emotions. One day, his father couldn't take it a hung himself in the living room. This happened when he was 9. Soon afterwards, he was taken into a filthy orphange where he was beaten up by the older, male orphans. One day, some people had come to take him away from that dreadful place. As he grew older, he realized he had supernatural powers and has taken full advantage of them.
Personality: Before Tesori lost his emotions, he was a very kind person. He liked to help others and make lots of friends. Even when he getting beaten up in the orphanage, he would still try to be kind because that was how he was raised as a kid.
