I'm afraid to admit it, but yes, Spanish class has turned into Art period for me. The class just seems to move so slow. While the teacher helps out all the kids who can't nail down those -ar, -o, -a verbs, I choose to draw. (I'm only thirteen, and this is my first year taking Spanish, in case you're probably wondering why I have so much time on my hands).
This is my second attempt to draw in a style I call "chibime", where the body isn't too short, but the head is still enormous and the nose is small/barely noticeable/not there. I know it looks weird, but please try to give me improvements in areas that are really needed. For example, I can't make the wrinkle effects in the clothing, nor can I draw a proper hand. The reason why the right hand is so small is because I was afraid that if I made it larger, it would look even odder. Hope you guys enjoy it!

PS: It's not any real character. He's some guy I made up for my creative writing piece in English. And in case you're wondering why his full name is so odd, just look at the initials: R.I.P. You'd have to read the story to figure out why that is.

I see that you removed the lines around the picture, but you should still never draw on lined paper.

The head is much too big for the body. The shoulders should be wider, since he looks squished around there. The body should also be larger, make sure it's proportionate with the head and shoulders. The way he's holding the sword is awkward looking, it seems like he's turning his arm in towards his body. Try drawing it with the sword pointing out, or in a left direction, with the hand turned sideways. His legs are too small as well, they should be longer and wider near his hips. His feet are too small and too square shaped, they should be more of an elongated oval. Perhaps find some shoe referacnes you could follow. His eyes are very dark, the white reflection part should be bigger, and although it is supposed to be like an anime character, there should be more parts to the eye like in realistic eyes. Here's a good eye tutorial that you can follow or change to your preferance: http://www.geocities.com/omuniversity/eyes/eyes.htm You have a good start, keep practicing!

*tries to think of some CnC that .Kairi. didn't point out* hm.... well...something with the eye placement is bothering me. It think they're a little bit high. And a little tip I can point out for proportion problems is that to use your own body as a model. Like when you're drawing the arms length, see how long your arms are compared with your body. Don't depend on this cause I dunno if this is the best way to find proportions.
