im planning on getting a japanses ps2 for my khfm+
my question is can u play a japanese ps2 in america?
i read somewhere that it should but the problem with overseas/out of country electronics is the voltage of electricity ours is weaker than japan's voltage i think it's like 210 compared to 100 something i don't know, so when you plug it in it might explode

If you already have a PS2 that works here you don't have to get another one. Here is a link to help with your problem. LINK
This device is less expensive than a Japanese PS2.
But if you don't have a PS2 that works here then you will need to buy a power converter. But with that other product it will be easier and less expensive. If I were you I would get the discs & flip top cover. I hope that helped.:D

If you're using a Japanese PS2 Slim, you don't need a voltage converter. The slim's AC power cord can take a range of voltages, 100-240V to exact. This covers NA, JP and Euro domestic voltages.

If you're using a fat PS2, then yes you do.

EDIT: And Japan is 110V, NA is 120V.
