I'm thinking of buying a gaming computer that's not at too high of a price, and I'm not too good at figuring out how good PC's are. if it's not too much trouble, could someone tell me how good of a setup this one is: http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-aurora/pd?refid=alienware-aurora If you could give an example of, say, what kind of games it could run, that would be great. Thanks to all in advance. :)
Well with Alienware PCs you select what you want and they give you an estimate based on that. I wouldn't recommend buying one though, a lot of what you're going to be paying for is brand name. It would probably be cheaper to build your own (if you feel comfortable doing that/know someone who can), or buy one off of a different site. iBuyPower is really good, they let you pick what you want, they assemble it for you and send it your way. Similar to what Alienware does, but faaar cheaper. You can just choose one of their prebuilt ones too: http://www.ibuypower.com/
I was actually going buy from them, but after reading some reviews of the site, I saw more bad than good. I'll go there as a last resort after reading what I have read. Unless of course the bad that I saw were just the people who had bad experiences and the people who had good ones didn't review the site or something...
Build. Own. No, really. That top end one is two hundred dollars less than mine and is far superior, bar the video card (That is a nice video card). Assembling is would a little difficult if you're like me and have no idea where the parts go, but once you get the idea of it, it's easy. I personally haven't bought anything from Alienware, but also, I don't intend to. I've heard nothing good about them at all. =\ But that's just me. This all depends on how much you have and are willing to spend.
I guess I could build it myself..might take a while, but im sure there's something somewhere that'll show what to do. Thanks everyone who answered, that helped :).
A while ago I was considering buying from ibuypower.com because someone told me it was a really good site, but I also saw the reviews of people saying they got nothing but broken parts and that the technical support was bad. I still don’t know whether that site is safe or not, so I ended up just buying an HP and adding better parts to it.
