Quantom of Solace

Ok, i saw the midnight premiere and I'm unsure as to if i liked it, or if i hated it. Without giving any spoilers, Quantom takes place immediately following the events of Casino Royale, making this the first direct sequel of any Bond movie. This had me on the fence to start with because most sequels suffer. I will say that there is more of a story line similar to past Bonds and the references to previous movies made me uneasy. (Goldfinger reference).

This movie however, has more locations than I can remember a Bond movie having. You can either say that that ruins or adds to the story however you see fit.

That is all I shall say without needing to throw down some spoiler brackets in here.

O.O It's a Casion Royale sequel?! Sigh... I hated that movie, and I really don't want to watch a sequel to it. I found it terrible in lots of ways, so perhaps it won't be hard for Quantum of Solace to be better. But whether the movie's bad in general or not, I hope Daniel Craig manages to be an awesome Bond (I don't think he was in CR).

CR's based on a novel by Ian Fleming, right? So, is this sequel based on a novel by him too?

I didn't see it, but it doesn't look like a good bond movie. It looks like a rebel bond movie, they did once with Pierce Brosnan and it wasn't the best moive. So I guess I'll have to wait to watch it to judge.

 

the new bond girl is....... meh.

 

I just saw it. Wow...that wasn't nearly as good as Casino Royale. They should've have done a sequel, plus, BOND IS NOT AN ACTION HERO!

My least favorite ever

 

I haven't watched it yet, but I will probably do so just so I can give a real opinion of it. So far I haven't heard anything good about it though. A lot of the reviews say it is overhyped and underacted.

Though since I am still unsure about the choice of Craig as the new Bond guy, I am automatically biased against it.

 

I loved it. I love the change bond movie's have made, from taking away the cheese and gadgets and actually making a great action film, and seeing the sequel be just like it, was nice, it was interesting to see a sequel.

I personally find it to be on par with Casino Royale, action has stepped up slightly, though the story isn't quite as fluid as it could be. But I loved it when I saw it.

 

I liked Casino Royale better
They had more of the car for one thing.
Another thing was that it wasn't a sequel.
QS was good, though

 

The movie was terrible. It was so far to the side form the main story, and yet it talked about it so much. Plus all the women there were ****s. One of them was sleeping with a guy for info, and the other one slept with bond after knowing him for less then an hour >.>

the story was terrible though. It was, in the end, all about Bond wanting revenge against someone for going after his 'motherly' figure >.>

 

...how is the entire premise of this movie NOT about the main story? Bond wants the guy that killed Vespa in Royale, and to do that, he has to infiltrate the group of baddies, which the ENTIRE movie is about. Revenge is a constant theme, not souly what the movie is about.

 

Revenge is indeed the main theme, but in that case, stick to it. This one on the other hand, while using it as the theme, really didn't revolve around that main factor. I found it to be extremely unenjoyable, constantly jumping around everywhere, and the only thing that I could POSSIBLY give a single star to is the fight scenes. I wouldn't even consider giving the opening credits a star >.>

 

The opening credits were a throw back to all the Bonds past, but i agree it didn't have the Bond feel. The fight scenes were great, and the constant jumping around to how ever many locations got old fast. Weighing all that, you have to admit that this Solace and Royale have a stronger story than a number of Bond's past.

 

Im gonna wait until this comes out on DVD.

 

Cassino Royale was better.

i just saw solace yesterday and i thought it was pretty good.i have not seen casino royale yet.i liked the action in this movie,i thought it did very well.story was done very well for being a sequel,so that is good.i might start seeing the new bond movies(i said i wouldn't see the new bond cause it probably wouldn't be as good as the old stuff)

 

I didn't care for it....they need to stop making Bond movies, I think its gettin old.....

 

I heard this movie sucked but have yet to see it myself
