Im not going to lie, I almost cried :'( To bad it's not going to be a real game, thats a real let down. It can make a great CGI movie though, it looks amazing. *downloading the video in 720p as we speak*
Looked really cool, especially with the body movements. The most realistic ones I've seen. However, the mouth movements felt really off for me. The way her mouth shaped words, especially English ones. Felt like Mass Effect 3's done some of that better (not to sound biased)
I'm just impressed that they seem to have finally bridged to the Uncanny Valley. All this time to huge issue with super-realistic CGI humans has been the eyes never looking quite right, but this was almost perfectly seamless. Hayabusa pointed out how mouth movements seemed off, and I do agree there, but I think that's an animation problem. I'm loving what they can do with this.
oh, it's too bad this isn't an actual game. they got me to care about that character in that short scene and it seemed to have been an opening to a very promising story.
This looks great. I could see it being an actual game, and I'd be thrilled if they decided to make it. There was so much emotion in that one scene, and I was really sympathetic towards her after such a short time.
This video got me feeling very empathetic. Reminds me of a short film I watched, very moving and very high detail graphic-wise. Look forward to seeing the End result.
This is why I loved Heavy Rain, the attention to detail, not only graphically, but character, expression, emotion were all spot on for what was going on. I like Quantic Dream for the fact they build they work on their own thoughts and creativity and really do care little for the monetary return. It's unfortunate they have to make a game every so often, but that's the price of both creativity and a on money centered goal. Oh well, can't wait to see more of their work.
Valorie Curry is the voice actor for Kara and is also the reference they used to make Kara's character model. I've never heard of her before but I might have seen her some where. She has thanked everyone for the positive feed back. How can anyone not like this short 7 minute video, it's amazing :D http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/10798.html
Wait so this isn't going to be a game? Ahh man that was really cute. So I'm guessing they were making that just to test out their skill for their next game or something? Pretty good then.
Is it bad that I want to see this eventually turn into a dystopian "rise of the robots" type of story? I think mainstream fiction is training me... Stellar stuff though, I gotta say. I was reluctant to pick up Heavy Rain due to lukewarm reviews, but I guess I need to keep an eye on the developer regardless. Think they're missing a serious opportunity in not following up on this demo, though... But who knows, maybe a petition or two will convince them to line it up for future development.
