And this just shows how many people wanted PS4 over the Xbox One :P

It's funny, because there were people starting to form a line outside of Target the other night when I was working, I believe there were 9 of them by the time we closed and left, and it was about freezing that night, and they were just sitting there in chairs waiting for the release of the system. Quite amusing actually.

You an claim that in a week or so i'm sure, but until it releases...

I'm sure about 600,000 units will shift in Europe, possibly more considering the XboxO won't be initially available in some countries. It's kinda of tough to guess actually, off the top of my head. So we'll see, but that's a good endorsement from the public, so let's see how it goes now.

Xbox did the hard work of digging it's grave and letting the Ps4 go as it pleased. I think only in south america (mainly Brazil and Argentina) will have a paradigm shift, as the Ps4 is ranging from 1250~2000 dollars, actually probably if it does sell out, it wont probably sell many consoles as it seems that they aren't shipping that many.

Super hype. Glad it's doing well enough to establish a market for publishers to release onto confidently....

That said.... WHY? It has like three things to play and most everyone I know who got all three of those things already finished them.

Not even that i'd say, they just have pretty good PR, it was Microsoft who had terrible PR that made Sony's PR look better. Even all the negative PR that Sony gave out like delayed PS4 features that won't be available at launch wasn't basically ignored whilst in counterpart, Microsoft got ripped apart by consumers for announcing the same things.
The good and bad first impressions concept is very true in the case of the consoles.

Microsoft gave them the advantage that let them have great PR. It's a relative scale. If Nintendo and Microsoft had done a better job, they would only have 'okay' PR, and probably wouldn't have had the biggest launch in industry history

Nintendo's PR is ok. They ride on the release of Mario and other first party games and the popularity from said games to not really need a lot PR, they just need to advertise a game well and it'll sell. Marketing a console on the other hand is their achille's heel.

But i've just not seen great PR from any of the big three, Sony has done the best but I wouldn't call it ridiculously good, just good enough. I honestly think the PS4 sales have come from word of mouth and internet popularity more than from Sony, i've heard plenty of non gamers at my Uni make comments about PS4s being something they'll buy for their boyfriends or such. People say 'XboxO is **** because...' And then say 'just buy the PS4, it's better'. Might not amount to anything though since i'm part of the European demographic.

Being a person who has decided to be one of the many who decided months ago: "Thou shalt not touch thee XBoxOne with a 10 foot pole."I throw in my own input, and bring my own views with it:

When Microsoft came out with: "Always online" *doesn't have a good connection, especially when there's a blizzard going on outside.* No used games *always buy used games, and rents because of how much money I have compared to how much money games cost.* And other such "improvements" and treated anyone with hostility who objected to their "innovations" Angry Joe's interview with Major Nelson comes to mind, hostility radiated off him and control. Including yanking the mic out of Joe's hand at one point and constantly interrupting, or that famous one with Mattrick where he insulted the armed forces by saying: "Well... I never lived in a submarine, but I guess they can't use it." Including two people I know who are in the armed forces, one who is training to be in the navy sub worker. Not including all the insults about people with bad internet connections. Including myself...

I was rethinking about giving One a chance after they made all those mistakes and withdrew them. Then they kept on changing their mind, every five minutes.

A person who I watch, I won't mention his name because his opinions are too colorful for the forum. Brought up a good point with the One which I am inclined to agree:

The One "upgrades" to no Internet, etc... is a patch. You are forced to download said patch for the system to work. Roosterteeth, who is basically paid by Microsoft a lot of the time to advertise their stuff, even said themselves that you can't play the system without said patch. This means you have to download this patch, meaning at any time that MS decides: "Hey, we're making a lot of money here..." They can remove it and make your system what they decided in the beginning before adding said patch. A lot of people would be thinking this wouldn't happen, but.......

MS in no way hasn't shown that they can keep their minds settled on Xbox when it comes to money. Recently I did a thread where MS said they changed their minds (again) and are going to sell your information, and advertise products to you via the Xbox depending on what happens when you have the Kinect on. This has been changed a few times and people really look at this after a while and go: "What will happen in the future with my money if they decide to change everything else?" With that, they go to the next system, the PS4.

The press conference from the start for MS was a disaster for them. Too much reliance on tv, entertainment, sports and of course, doggies. If you looked at stocks the day of the conference, MS's stocks plunged after the conference. Sony actually did a bit better and actually thanked MS for such a boost for them, and later kicked them while they were down with E3 by announcing, which I predicted: "We're doing the complete opposite of MS, we listen to you guys." Which had the audience eating out of their hand.

Microsoft just keeps on making mistakes along the way, and I see it not settling any time soon for them to do well against the PS4. And yes, I'm a Halo fan, and I'm still skipping on the One due to the decisions they made.

But there's no way that would happen this time around because if it was caught, people would hack the system like they did the PS3 and put their own patch on there to undo the new patch. MS isn't going to commit brand suicide. Anyone thinking that is just a conspiracy theorist. Take a step back and realize that MS is still a company and they had to fine tune things. Their investors saw the outcry and threatened to withdraw money so they fixed it and claimed it was for the fans. They're not going to defy the people who pay the bills.[DOUBLEPOST=1385031775][/DOUBLEPOST]

I remember this thread and a lot of that was jumped to conclusions because they have ads based on what I play, like how Sony dedicated a portion of their initial press conference to remind us we're predictable bastards and PSN store could preorder games for us. There's no way MS is going to just STARE through people's kinects. And if so, they'll get a lot of me walking around naked so it's 2xLul. This very site's ads use my info collected from google to never stop advertising Pawn Stars to me. This isn't anything new, it's just something to keep ignoring.

As for that being a reason people jumped to PS4... yeah maybe like 5-30 people, max, but I'll let you know most consumers had no idea that's a thing. I work right next to a gamestop and not one person mentioned that when I asked them PS4 or X1. They always say either because it's cheaper, they preferred the PS3 to the Xbox 360, or they just were on the MS hatewagon that Sony started because MS made horrible decisions.

I want both consoles for different reasons, so don't paint me on one side or the other.
