Don't know if this belongs here, but I just came up with this in the morning. So, in a video game, tory, or anything else, do you see yourself as a protagonist, antagonist, or a side character?

For me, despite my warm and friendly nature, I would say I would play a much greater antagonist. It gives me the freedom of being something that I am not, and it also helps make up for my "taking over the world to make a better place" kind of thinking. I don't think a bad guy has to be shallow and always, beat the good guy, I like it if they have a past to them. They once were in love, but then their loved one was taken from them. Or perhaps they quest for some type of knowledge or power, and their quest for that knowledge and power goes astray.

So, that's pretty much me. What are your thoughts?

    Protagonist.

I was recently told by a drunk old man: "You have spunk, kid!"

Either protagonist or protagonist-gone-antagonist. I'm to indecisive to be on one side. I get bored easily.

Antagonist, BECAUSE I'M EVIL. No, I'd just enjoy being portrayed as one, cause a dark sarcastic me would be great to play as/read what-not, seeing as I'm usually a nice fluffy person. :3

    Oooh, I like this . . .

A lot of people have told me that despite my sweet nature, because I'm nice most of the time, I would be the antagonist because "it's always the quiet ones". To be honest, I do think that I could pull of the role of the antagonist, but I don't like playing the bad guy and my parents say I have too big a heart to be truly mean.

Personally, I think I'd be the side character, I'm not very important.

Hmm, well I'm a little goody two shoes a lot of the time so I would say I would be either a Protagonist or a side character on the good side of things.
I just can't see me being evil :P

Edit: Damn I'm really derping now...I need a moment to compose myself.

I was gonna say Protagonist is a good guy. Didn't you watch Yu-Gi-Oh BBT Abridged?

I'd always be the protagonist of my own story, and anyone who opposes me would be my antagonist, regardless of how heroic his actions and motives would seem to others. I'd be a side character to a whole bunch of other stories.

Out of these, I would be the protagonist, because I'm a leader type. However, I would most likely be the deuteragonist.

Antagonist, easily. I'm not really evil myself, but i've always found the idea of having no moral limits or anything like that fascinating. It's always more fun to RP a villain than a hero :D

I would say I'm more of an Anti-Hero.
Though I have good intentions, I often stray from the path of light.
Not really good with moral conflict so this leads me to making unpredictable choices.

    Antagonist.
Because I am much too negative, with oh so much bottled up anger and a sadistic streak,to be anything else.
But,on that note,I must say that all antagonists make some supid mistake.
    NOT ME.
    AHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    Mental brain dead moment.
    Sorry dears.

i think i'd be a protagonist but to make it more interesting i think i'd want some sort of "dark" past or at least be one of those hardcore badass chicks in video games that know what they're doing and don't take crap from anyone. i was always drawn to those types of characters and i think it suits my personality better if i'm some sort of mysterious black-wearing character that somehow knows all the answers and can handle herself.

if you would have asked me this back in middle school i probably would have said antagonist first cause i used to obsess over villains in stories. even now i'd like to play a villain, but maybe more of a villain who turns good or something???????????

A side character, probably. I don't think I'm terribly charismatic or memorable, so antagonist & protagonist are out, and I'm not really one to shake things up. Side characters tend to be the most beloved, too. ;o

I would be a companion of the Protagonist. The side character then, like the Bastilla to Revan, Ron Weaslsy to Harry Potter, Robin to Batman, the Kreia to the Jedi Exile, or the Garrus to Commander Shepherd.

A true protagonist that can face impossible odds and be willing to go into hell with them. I am a Jack of All Trades person, so I'd be able to assist in any situation, guiding and helping where I can.

I find that I lack the charisma to move men, or the will to strive to greatness. But I would follow someone with those ideals.

    Villain Protagonist.
I'd be the 'evil' character, but most likely the story would follow me regardless. The Hero Antagonist would definitely be in the right, and eventually convince me to join his side... as the Token Evil Teammate. Still doing very villainous things, but for the good guys.
    I'm so complex.

Same as Krowley. Antiheroine fits me best.
For the most part, I have good intentions. But in reality, my way of thinking can be kind of strange...And the way I see the world is terrible. I mean, my thoughts on life in general are just awful. I would have said antagonist, but I don't enjoy hurting people and I'm not entirely selfish. Though I find the 'dark side' to be more fun and interesting, I couldn't see myself intentionally harming people or the world, despite the fact that my thoughts are a bit dark.

This. Protagonist doesn't necessarily mean hero and antagonist doesn't necessarily mean villain. It all depends on the point of view. Everybody is the protagonist of their own story because they're obviously the principal character of it and the one who drives it. They can also be the antagonist and side characters to other people's story. Now what kind of protagonist/antagonist/side character they are is a completely different thing and that's kind of what this discussion is turning into.

I personally find myself to be the knight in sour armor type.

I'd be a deconstruction of your typical anti-hero protagonist. I do what's right, but only because what's right has a strong tendency to fall into my own selfish desires. I'll probably get an arc where I act as the villain, but I'll come to my senses partway through.
