Okay, I just got KHIIFM+ today (YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!), I have the Swap Magic 3.8 and the sliding tool for the old PS2. Here is what I did to play my game:

    1. Inserted Swap Magic 3.8 (COMPACT DISK) into the PS2.
    2. Waited for the "BOOT DISK" screen.
    3. Inserted the slide tool in the LEFT side of the PS2 disk drive and moved it to the RIGHT.
    4. Gently removed the disk drive.
    5. Took out Swap Magic 3.6 CD.
    6. Inserted Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories.
    7. Gently pushed the CD drive back in.
    8. Placed the slide tool in the RIGHT side of the PS2 disk drive and moved it to the LEFT.
    9. Heard and felt the drive close.
    10. Pressed "X" on "Normal"
    11. Pressed "X" on NTCP
    12. Waited for disk to load.
    13. Saw red screen saying "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disk"
    14. Promptly screamed at the top of my lungs.
    15. Repeated about 500 times.

What did I do wrong? It may be that the front of the disk drive is broken off.

Try clicking "Default" instead of NTSC.

I think I tried that as well, Roxas-kun. I'll try it again.

    EDIT: Tried it, didn't work...

    Update of the situation:

I now have a new PS2, and my Swap Magic works! However, I have to use it everytime I want to play KHIIFM. I read somewhere that you don't have to. Can anyone help?

Yes, unfortunately you do. You need to boot up the Swap Magic every time you wanna play a backup/import.

Another thing that hasn't been mentioned by retailers is that oftentimes the disc will not boot up properly if you immediately try to boot it up again after shutting off your game.

I.e. Final Mix+ is playing. You turn PS2 off, and right away try to place Swap Magic disc in it again to boot it up.

I've personally found I have to wait a few minutes before the disc will work properly again. Maybe this is only my problem, but I felt I had to give out that information.

Eh? Shimatta! Oh well. Thanks, Roxas-kun.

EDIT: BTW, it'd be best to change your name, since the quote screwed up, thanks your name being in Japanese text. People who don't speak Japanese would start calling "Box-man" or "????", depending on what they see.
