So I'm writing a Power Rangers fic based on the series as a whole. However, I stopped watching after the first half of Operation Overdrive; I saw a few episodes of Jungle Fury but that's when I gave up on the series. I know RPM was supposed to be so much better so I tried with Samurai, but Samurai was just...horrible (granted, I only gave it one episode). I'm going to watch RPM for research, but are any of the others actually worth watching, quality-wise? Otherwise, I'm sticking to the wiki.
You might wanna try the Sentai series, my family. Im actually surprised that the English versions don´t at least take some of the Sentai story materials. Sentai is not all too kiddie-like, imo. Give it a try, brah. Kyoryuger is gud. But yeah, sorry for not actually answering your question. I haven´t really seen Power Rangers in sometime, and when I tried to watch Saban´s more recent Ranger series, I thought "this **** is for 10 year olds".
Didn't we have this convo on Facebook? Lol But yeah, that's my problem with the current seasons! Though my fic is actually more of a reboot on the mythology and will start around the same time as Dino Thunder/Ninja Storm, I don't really need the newer seasons so much as I need their mythology (This new Dino Charge one for instance, or whatever, already has a piece of info I need). I read somewhere that some of the later seasons actually are really close to the Sentai source material so -if that's true- I might look at the Sentai source for those.
You could try checking out the Sentai wiki, it lists a ton of info. And since Sentai is the original source, as you said, I think the wiki could have more in-depth info regarding the Dinosaur type Rangers/Squadrons.
Samurai was really bad, lol. I watched a few episodes of it with my baby brother and we both dropped it after a while. I think it was the acting direction being terrible, lol. RPM I haven't seen all of yet, but the few episodes I saw were pretty enjoyable. I dunno if any of the other new ones are good watches (maybe that one where they use past Rangers powers? Only saw one episode of that thou so I can't really speak to it)

As far as Samurai goes, watching Shinkenger on kissasian is the same thing because Samurai is a shortened, watered down Shinkenger. Dino Charge is definitely better. It's going in the right direction. Don't touch Megaforce or Super Megaforce, they're bad. Watch Gokaiger instead of Super Mega, and as far as Mega goes, Goseiger is okay at best.
RPM is fantastic. Jungle Fury is okay, I would suggest watching it. Operation Overdrive is trash, Samurai is worse than trash (Steve Skylar, the gold ranger, was like the only good actor out of the entire series), and Megaforce is two times worse than trash (They ****ed up the reunion series. It was given to Saban ON A PLATTER and they STILL ****ed it up). Yeah I'm a huge Power Rangers nerd and have been for years. So if you need any help let me know. I totally wanna read it when you're done.

I have seen several of the power ranger series. Operation Overdrive is not too bad but it doesn't have anything memorable about it. RPM is ok but rather boring, the only good thing about it was Ziggy in my opinion. Samurai is bad and completely mocks the Samurai concept in my opinion. Jungle Fury was better but they cast the wrong person as the red ranger in my opinion. Dino Thunder had a good story and was more enjoyable to watch. Ninja storm had its moments but over all I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. SPD had a good group of actors and I enjoyed watching it. Mystic force was just horrible, the only part I enjoyed was Toby and he wasn't even a ranger. Wild Force was bad and basically had Tarzan as a Ranger. Or at least that is how I saw it. Megaforce and Supermegaforce completely mocked the previous series and that ruined it for me. As for Dino Charge, I am currently still watching it and I am finding it a bit boring but Riley the green ranger is quite memorable. I may have seen other series but they are the only ones I can think of.
I've seen a bit of every season, but the only ones I actually watched and watched or tried to watch all episodes of were S.P.D., Mystic Force, Megaforce, Super Megaforce, Dino Charge, and Super Dino Charge, the former two being on Toon Disney's (now Disney XD) Jetix block and the latter four being on Nickelodeon. I wasn't able to see all the episodes of Megaforce/Super Megaforce due to Nickelodeon being Nickelodeon and not re-running episodes of certain shows for whatever reasons other than once the Sunday after they aired on Saturday.
