I posted a VM on Wingly's profile, and my Internet speed slowed down to a crawl while it was posting, and I'm not sure if it was from the VM or just a hiccup. I've posted longer before, too, such as when I met Misty.

    Here's the VM:

Most likely a coincidence, however, excessive amounts of BBCode may cause slowdown. If memory serves me right, someone made an RP thread with so much BBCode in it that it slowed everything down.

(And it doesn't seem like you had too much BBCode in there anyway)

I've been having slow internet as well, but not just on this site. If you have compatability view on your browser, than you should see if using that helps. Although it might make your pages look like crap compared to normal, because I have to use that option just to use this site right now. I literally can't do anything if it's off

Pretty sure it's a coincidence. I've seen and posted longer VMs and nothing bad happens.

I have a similar problem with people that I've talked to on here for a long time. I made a thread about it before here but it was probably in the wrong section, so it went unnoticed.
Essentially; if you go into Advanced mode instead of Quick mode, if displays the entire coversation between the two of you, from the very first, which causes massive slowdown, sometimes to the point of crashing.

Just for clarification, it wasn't only KHV, it was everything.

The massive slowdown I mentioned was of the computer, not just the one page. My entire system crashed more than once because of the problem with Advanced Posting on VMs.

Then it's unrelated to KHV, it's your computer or your connection. I will look into what DarkTraitor mentioned, though.

Everything Internet-related. My computer was fine.

I'm just not sure if it was caused because it was taking a lot of Internet memory or something to post that VM.

Hum, I have already posted a lot o long posts and VMs, but it just take more time to post; it doesn't slow down my computer/internet. If there were many tabs open or you're using many things internet-related so it will slow down with each connection to each activity you have.

Clearing the historic and your browser will run faster! Maybe there is too much memory there or something like that!

That was due to an inefficient way of handling thread previews. It would go and parse the entire OP before trimming off enough to make the preview text. One RP in particular had a lot of BBCode in it (pictures in particular) that the site needed to deal with every time someone looked at the RP forum, which caused big slowdowns combined with the other RPs that tend to have rather extensive first posts.

Really it goes to show how little memory posts tend to take that it only slowed down the RP Arena. The posted VM is practically nothing.

If it is reoccurring then we have issues to look into, but seeing as you said you posted longer without incident I'm willing to bet it was just a hiccup somewhere in your network connection.

Well, I guess it wasn't the VM, because my Internet's loading speed has been terribly slow for the last few minutes, and it seems to be going on and off.

I know it's not upload latency since my uploads finished quite a while ago.

    Help? :c

    About once a week.

Also, it's fine now, so I'm not sure what happened.

If it's just a random spike, then it's quite common. Usually it's the ISP having trouble with traffic or there has been a bottleneck near you, which happens if a lot of people using the same main "cable" (I don't know what type of Inet you have, DSL/Fiber, etc.) at a certain point. It's basically the same effect you get if you are at school, and the Inet is slow due to a lot of people using it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think we have DSL Internet.
