No Thanks Post your Picture Here thread moved to Spamzone.

The thread is extremely spammy when people don't post pictures. It's a bit irritating. Will it get moved to the spamzone eventually?​

 

I believe it will be part of the upcoming (hopefully) "About Me" section, and I think we're leaning towards not counting posts there.
Because in addition to people just writing spammy posts, a lot of people constantly post pictures to bump their post count. I never actually liked having it in an area where posts counted, to be honest. >>

 

And I bet if they didn't count, A LOT of prems would go back to normies >.<

And I only have like two posts in the thread so I don't really care xD

 

I am very pleased to say that I have NEVER posted in any version of that thread.

I vote yes wholeheartedly, or if it can go in "The Usual Spot" as we decided it was going to be called then yeah. I don't think that posts in threads like that should ever count.

 

Honestly, I don't consider it spammy at all. People stay on topic, and if they're not posting the pictures then they're commenting on the pictures. Yes, maybe there are a few posts in there that we could do without, but I otherwise see it as a legitimate thread.

 

I think the entire thread itself is spam @-@ I mean, it's in the Discussion section, but posting your picture isn't really discussing anything, and people don't really go into in-depth discussions about their pics.​

 

No I agree, it's not a very in-depth thread and it can get spammy. But I think it has just as much worth as some of the other sections; like the usual response in PYP would be what, "pretty picture, I love your outfit!", and usually there are several comments per post. Compare that to, say, most of the posts in Introduce Yourself, where people generally just say "hey, enjoy your stay."

I'm just saying that I think it has just as much worth as other threads.

 

But the Intro section is a bit different, as it's making people feel welcome, though if the post is too short I do delete it. With PYP it's just say "Nice picture" or something along those lines. Hell, some posts don't even have words, just pictures.

 

The PYP makes people feel pretty. :>

Really I'm on the fence about this all though, if you guys want to move it, move it. I like playing devil's advocate sometimes.

 

So suppose this does get moved to a place where posts don't count. Would the post count of people who posted in it go down?

 

I believe so, assuming that we're going to move the thread in there and not simply just put them in there from now on.

 

I am seriously giving this some thought since I'm torn on the issue. I do see that some posts are done as the guideline says. Many are. Some people just spam and I hate to ruin it for others. The thread is definitely moving to the new section mentioned, but whether posts will count or not is up in the air atm.
