_ Los Campesinos! :: Truly an amazing band. Hold On Now Youngster, while a little sloppy, was lyrically outstanding, not to mention that the songs were, and continue to be, addicting. They really shaped up for We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed -- in my opinion, they couldn't have made a better record. _ blink-182 :: When someone hears blink-182, they probably think of their hits like "All the Small Things" or "I Miss You." While those songs aren't bad, there are so many other gems. The bass in the beginning of the Buddha version of Carousel is outstand. _ Angels & Airwaves :: While I've always been more of a Mark Hoppus girl, I thought that while I wait for blink-182 to get back together, I need a little Tom DeLonge in my life. I haven't bought I-Empire yet, but We Don't Need to Whisper was phenomanel. _ +44 :: Beautiful music + Mark Hoppus' warm voice = pure bliss. Make You Smile is one of the greatest duets of all time. _ 1997 :: I was a tad bit disapointed with On the Run as an entire album -- nothing really seemed to stand out. .. A Better View, however, was outstanding. The lyrics and the arrangements were all I could ever ask for, and words can't describe my love for the lyrics of The Roads You Can Take (I'd give you my love if you would say that it's time; I'll tear down the walls you build up in our lives. As the barrier breaks between your heart and mine, you would die to forget, but I will live to remind you.) _ Paramore :: Despite how disapointing Riot! was, I can chalk it up to a sophomore slump. All We Know is Falling had this sort of "close to home" feel, and was obviously very youthful considering the band member's ages when it was recorded. _ Bright Eyes :: Conor Oberst is a lyrical genius. His music can be calming, uplifting, and even sort of gloomy, but it just seems so pure and sincere. Every song he has ever written just has a feeling, an aura, about it. Even "The Invisible Gardener," an instrumental song, can make all the stress and bad things going on melt away. _ Rise Against :: I haven't really been paying much attention to Rise Against lately, because my music tastes have changed quite a bit, but they're the first band that I'm not ashamed to say that I listen to, and for that they'll hold a place in my heart forever. [/rant] Those are the ones I can think of at the moment, although there's probably some more.
Good bands everybody! If you like screamo, try some of these: Alasena, Dance Gavin Dance, Enter Shikari, Breathe Carolina, and Jamies Elsewhere
