count role players posts?

personally i say yes im not talking spam zone people im talking the serious roleplayers you know the ones that have like me 14 counted posts and 1600 noncounted posts i mean if my rp posts were counted i would probably be the fastest person in khvids history to make premium but that aside you know what role players im talking about the good ones spam zone shouldnt count because lets face it a coherent post there is so rare you have a better chance winning the lottery you know im bringing this up because i rp a lot because it is rare i find anthing else on here interesting to do sorry to the discussion thread and i think at least we should get some fair shot because i have not been on khvids long and im not begging to be a prem but im on here close to 10-14 hours a day thats more than probably the admins and moderaters combined so i think that dedicated rpers deserve something at least consider it and thank you for your time (btw i am sure someone thought of this before me so no need to mention that if it is true) i expect this will be closed before my poll times out such is the nature of my luck


I would apprecate if you told me why or why not you think the admins should consider this and please dont just vote no because you lack the attention span to read my entire post

 

No... They shouldnt be counted... There are people in the RP section that spend all day in there in like four different stories, posting heaps... If posts were counted there then we would have heaps more people making premmy in like a week... And I think this has been suggested before as well...

 

i think that it has been suggested too but im saying a 6 letter post in the discussion thread is counted why cant a 1200 character role play that actually has thought put in count? besides im talking the decnet nice fair roleplayers not the ones that belong in the spam zone also i suggest that people that do nothing but spam be banished to the spamzone(meaning can only post in spamzone) but see my side of the arguement but i see your side as well but people can make prem too by just spamming everything they want in the discussion thread and getting their friends to rep them. and your side is rpers are just spammers then why not just remove the roleplaying section and say there is no point?

 

How do you suggest we distinguish between the RPer's that "deserve" to get their posts counted and the ones that don't?

The RP section is part of the fun and games forum, and it's exactly that. In forums like discussion posts are generally more serious, whereas posts in RP are done for fun.

p.s.- there is no such thing as "banishing" people to the spam zone ;D

 

I understand what you're trying to say. But no, there is no point in it. Like Nate_River said, more people would reach Prem a lot faster and it could cause post-whoring. A lot of post-whoring. /Thread already made before.

 

Putting a limit on what counts and what doesnt like a 10 letter 1 liner wont but a 300 plus paragraph seems to sound like a lot of work for no benefit to me doesnt it to you besides comb the threads where posts count and see if half of them are as creative and well thought out as a rp just try ill bet you find 80% are just to get high post counts by lazy people that have a quarter of a brain and the attention span of a rat especially the real life problems section not flaming anyone here but do SOME of those people even think? but see its not my call im trying to get people to agree but i guess they wont but whatever its only a suggestion its not like im saying OMG COUNT THE RPERS POST NAO! or anything

This would be a disaster. I know as a retired RPer how many people would take advantage of this just to get premmy. Are there some people who make decent posts in RPs and deserve post counts for them? Yes, I believe there are (I'd like to consider myself a part of that group ;D). However, you can't pick and chose people to get credits for their RPing. It's either everybody or nobody, and for the sake of the site, it'll have to be nobody. There are very few responsible to RP in a way that deserves post counts; the rest would take advantage of this.

Wow, just thinking about this is startling. I'd have about 10,000 posts, I think. Probably more. xD Outragous.

 

No. I haven't rp'd in a while but I know that there's still a lot of spam in the rp section, and plus there's going to be spam OOC posts and so on and then people will start only posting a few words in their posts so they can get their count up easier.

This has been suggested before. Not happening.

Edit: I'm browsing the rp section and I'm finding a lot of threads/posts that are pure spam.

Extended RP section.

This is what made me slightly irritated. Just because people post in the spamzone alot means that they shouldn't have ANY right to post somewhere else? Plus, for people who want to reach prem, if such a banishment occured, Prem would be an impossible dream. So, No.

General Discussion Section should be carefully looked over by mods already, They know spam and actual post. Plus, you wouldn't be able to spam 1000 post without being noticed. So? People can rep whoever they want. There IS people that actually want to roleplay, INCLUDING myself. Removing it would be pointless, the ENTIRE section isn't spam.

I would only accept the idea for Extended RP but that's it.

 

It is something that will always be in the back of RPers minds that "I'm doing a lot of work for nothing here" and I know from experiance that this is the death of a lot of them. They stop RPing when they are really good at it because they aren't getting anything out of it. I myself was one of these people. There is no way it is going to happen, no matter how much people want it to, even though a (hopeful) majority of us do post "walls". My only suggestion would be that Extended RPs get counted, but then again, that forum would probably then get spammed and I don't think [whoever mods that section now] would be able to cope with it all. I seriously think it would be that bad.

As much I wish it could, for I have been part of many a worthwhile RP that is engaging, there will always be those that SPAM. To murder a KH2 quote: "As long as there is SPAM in a single post, that section will not count".

thats why i suggested certain posts be counted i mean what are the sectional rp mods for anyways half the time they arent even online i bet just today and yesterday i have been online and active for longer than all the mods have been the entire year i mean like if this were implemented I would Single-Handedly enforce it as a mod but that wont happen unless some admin pulls some strings ok back on topic thats why only certain posts would be counted give the mods for the rp something to do monitor spam if this were implemented because today i have seen 1 mod do anything and that was obsessed so i thank obsessed for actually posting on this thread so yea ok i have ran out of things to say

 

I say no. Are we really so lazy that we don't want to do something if we don't benefit from it? The RP section is for having fun Role Playing, and if you think that's not enough, ur doin it rong.

I could see it happening in the extended RP section, that would encourage people to post better and actually work for Prem, but overall, no.

 

I say no to this. I did the same thing Xaale did and found too much spam to my liking and no indication that that would change if we made posts count (on the contrary). Bad idea.
I fail to understand why post count should matter so much in the first place. It's a Kingdom Hearts forum, people. How important can it be to have a huge post count as opposed to a much smaller one?

We mods have a life to live too you know?

 

what i am saying is it is sad that in 2 days i am on longer than most mods are on in a year and also a 6 letter post in the discussion forum counts but a 3 mile long wall of text means nothing just because its about role playing something seems amiss in that logic

 

If I MUST explain myself, I had requested to be removed from the RP section ages ago.

Anyway, I say no to the idea. 99.9% of RP posts are completely lacking in depth anyway, and it'd make the godawful spam problems in that section even worse.

As a member who used to role play and also as a person who has modded that section, it simply will not work. Also, it is to my knowladge, staff correct me if im wrong, but they cant make a subsection postless without making the whole section have posts. For example, the KHV awards section in the spam zone, we couldnt make posts count there without making it count in the rest of the spam zone and visa versa.

It would also require a mod to read each and every post, and posts can have 1200 charactors and still mean absolutely nothing. So you cant have posts count based on charactor counts. There would be no way to classify a "good post". As a side note, once one section would even be approved, it would turn to spam almost instantly because people would want higher post counts and the quality of the RP would go down.

And RPing should be done for fun. not for post counts. Otherwise no one would post in the spam zone.

 

This idea has been suggested before and the answer is no. The RP section is purely for enjoyment and is an extra thing to the site. The section exists purely so some members can participate because they love to do it. It does not reflect on the whole site and is beneficial only to those who want to do it. It is not news, coding, serious discussion, or pertaining to KH games etc.

Also, it is not fair to go through and moderate what is 'acceptable' RP for members to have posts counted versus what is deemed 'unworthy' because that sets standards on role-playing, which who has a right to discern what is quality RP versus not quality RP? Members like different types of role-play. It would also be a waste of time for some sectional mod to have to go through tons of RPs and check out posts, if we decided to be that mean and set standards.

I'm sorry, but this suggestion won't be happening for the above reasons and this is being closed. I see why you want it and others have too in the past, but the answer is no as there are just too many issues with doing so.

Anyway, I have noticed alot of Premiums, but many people complain it's hard to get posts.

So, out of pure questioning, may I suggest getting post counts by posting in the Role Play?

Not as many people post there as they do in the spamzone, and it would be faster to get posts.
