Any Americans hear about this or is it just my close friends on this site. Apparently from what the Government class teacher said. We have the choice to watch a webcast of Barrack Obama telling us to stay in school then we're told we are REQUIRED to watch. That's not all apparently parents and other people have a problem with this To staff this isn't a debate just want to know what people think.

Politics is in everything. It's sort of unavoidable for it to be in HS or anywhere for that matter. I don't think a speech by Obama will make a huge difference. lol
Well, to be fair, presidents have been addressing the youth for decades. They know it'll get them votes later on, yea, but it's not like Obama is the first one to do this. Just because there's a new means of projecting the message doesn't make it much worse in this case. Though, if the podcast is available through other outlets besides the school (which I would imagine it is), then that's a bit... ehhh. ... I hate Obama, by the way.
I don't really see it as politically-driven. Not saying that he's not hoping to get a few more votes in 2012 for it, but it's mostly a motivational thing. He's giving a speech on health care that day anyway, so might as well encourage the kiddies to work harder in school while he's at it. FYI: If you are being forced to watch it, it's your school who's forcing you, not the government XD Also, why does almost everyone who comes to the Spam Zone despise Obama? O_O I've seen this on more than one occasion.
