Good to see you again, guys. Time for another poetry contest. The months sure seem to fly by, or maybe that's just me. Thanks for your entries as usual. :)

August's contest was an interesting one to read. Apparently many of you have a dystopian view on justice, or at least prefered that view in your poems. Our winner was no different in this: Rayku filled his piece with a lot of anger and despair. Quite amazing for a poem of that length.

In accordance with the new school year, this month's theme will be New Beginnings. Cheesy as it may sound, I'm pretty sure you guys can come up with something creative. Keep doing your best!

    Nice piece Rayku, very moving!

Anyway, another sudden piece of work off the top of my head:

    Supernova

Once upon a time, there was nothing but an empty space,
Born was a bright light, building and building at steady pace,

It brought us from the dark, bitter, cold nights,
Leading us forever to see some warm loving sights,

It gave us a gift that could not be bought,
Happiness and laughter that we once sought,

Never apart, like the best of friends,
Everyone knows the love that we send

I call him my Sun, and I am his Father
He is my light in the dark, and together we shine,
We shine, as a star, a supernova
We shine and shine, over and over

    Awesome stuff Rayku. Good job.
Well, I suppose that this poem has a deep meaning behind it.
Hope you all like it <3

    A saviour

Azure eyes flashing through subtle shades,
    Another sickening happy facade.
The rebirth promised will always be tomorrow,
Hearts burst into flames that lick with sorrow.

Gasping for air with lungs desperate and dry,
Tears flooding the eyes with a meaning so wry,
Desperation for that motherly twinkle in the eye,
The type that will always come tomorrow.

A scream that echoes throughout the land,
A scream triggered by a reprimand,
A scream recoiling from the hand,
The sun will always shine tomorrow.

A saviour arises from amidst the blue,
    Wipes away the salty residue,
Coos the child a sweet lullaby,
And to the violence, she waves goodbye.

Congrats Rayku ^^ great poem grrrrrreat poem (As tony the tiger would say)

    The circle of life
Life, lots of small circles creating one big circle.
Going round, so many colours, so many shades of purple.
So much to see, so little time.
So much rhythm, so much rhyme.
All to hear but with so little time.
Look into my eyes, trust me sweetie.
Look around and you'll see we'll never understand completely.
So come here and take a seat.
So we can can watch the circle go round one more time and feel complete.

    Promises

    A promise to change,
    A promise for life,
    You walk away,
    You've left me again,

    A promise broken,
    A promise of lies,
    I hear what you say,
    I know it's sill lies,

    Promises are never kept,
    Promises have broken hearts,
    Spilling tears,
    And shattering dreams,

    A promise to stay,
    A promise unkept,
It's my turn to walk away,
    It's time it ends,

    Promises are lies,
    Words are meaning less,
    Bonds never last,
    but beginnings are forever,

    So I'll start again,
    And i'll never foget,
    This chance you gave me,
    It's one I won't soon forget;
