Pikmin is a great game. Some would argue that it's difficult, or boring, or whatever. I find it, and its more freedom-based sequel, classics. The difficulty is terribly noticeable in the first game, and I only made it on my third playthrough. However, Pikmin 2 is much easier and gives you enough time to really explore. But whether you prefer the difficulty, mindlessly controlling tiny plant-monsters while exploring a post-apocalyptic Earth? Count me in. The fact that Pikmin got re-made for the Wii is incredibly refreshing, and proves that Pikmin can stand the test of time with other great games. THOUGHTZ?
I've never played it myself but a friend of mine said they were definitely worth playing. I do want to play it as the simplicity of the cover always interested me and I've heard good things about it. What exactly do you do in the game?
In both games, you control a certain amount of little creatures called Pikmin. They come in different colors, each color with a specific power. They follow you everywhere and you can throw them, call them together, and even abuse them*. In the original game, you crash-land on a mysterious planet Spoiler: spoiling Earth. and you use the little Pikmin to travel around and recover the missing ship pieces before 30 days run out. In Pikmin 2, (much better), you return home and discover your buisness is in debt. You and another worker fly back to the planet, discover new Pikmin, and have a much better adventure with no time limit. In both games, the fighting system consists of throwing Pikmin at giant scary monsters and basically cheering them on. You have to replenish their stock, if it gets too tough call them back and send in stronger forces, or occasionally just charge in and beat the monster with your tiny fists(You're about 2 inches tall). It's quite fun, and makes you feel like you control an army. Do try them out, it's worth it. *You're not supposed to abuse them.
That does sound good ^^ I like the thought of being able to control the Pikmin- like either abuse or treat them well. I will play it if I see it on sale somewhere, I'll probably get Pikmin 2 since time limits have always annoyed me plus the story sounds better. The 30 day time limit- is that real life 30 days or 720 hours or game days?
30 Game Days. It's actually a huge game, but the time limit almost ruins it. You can only really explore it a few playthroughs in, and that always took up too much of my time. There are even some areas that automatically end the day, which happened to me 2 or 3 times and could perhaps have been the reason I found it so difficult. If you're planning on buying one, definitely get the second.
Alright then, thanks ^^ I will probably buy the sequel as long as it all still makes sense but from your explanation I think I understand the gist. I did just watch the trailer and it does look random enough to be awesome xD
