Phone or Phone Battery?

We were doing our grocery shopping at Fred Meyer this morning around 7:30 AM; I was getting us some maple bars and was putting my phone in my sweater pocket when it slipped out of my hands and fell on the ground. However, I'm not entirely sure if the phone is broken or maybe just needs a new battery. When I plugged the charger into it, nothing came up, so maybe it is the battery.

While people don't normally go, "Oh, hey! I'm going to drop my phone today," phone companies should build phones with padding of something in case they are ever dropped to protect them. Obviously, if you throw a phone really hard at the ground for whatever reason, probably nothing will protect it, but built-in padding would at least protect it from accidental drops. However, companies don't do **** and probably don't even consider the factor of people accidentally dropping their phones.

It's an LG smartphone from TracFone Wireless, Inc. And I do have a case that latches onto my pants for protection. However, since we have a budget when we do grocery shopping, I use (or used) the phone's calculator each time we add an item to keep track of what we're at so far.

You can probably pick up an Otterbox for the phone, they are a touch pricey, like $50 to $60 for the higher end model, but considering the phone's retail value when you purchased it is ten times that, its a drop in the bucket. I have the Samsung Galaxy S and an Otterbox, and yes, I dropped a few times.

I'm not sure what you can do for your phone (not very techy), but the phone companies probably won't make padded phones. It goes like this: You drop your phone and break it. Then you have to buy a new one. Profit for the company. Or, you drop your phone and break it, but you had the warranty. Loss for the company. But there is a greater chance that you didn't get the warranty than that you did. Either way, you still need a new phone.

This can be locked. We got a new phone of the same model and everything when we went down to Wenatchee yesterday.
