When you go to somebody's profile page, they should have the choice to put a personal playlist of music to play when someone is on their page.
Er...why is that necessary? And I don't even know if that's possible, unless we had some kind of third party host we'd have to let members upload songs, meaning our server would get lagged to hell. >>
Well...do you want to deal with a KHV that has database errors every few minutes? I'd assume not. Honestly I don't even know if there is a vB plugin that would be easily installed, but if you want a playlist available to other members there are sites that support that, like Imeem. Just as long as it isn't on autoplay, I believe it will still work in signatures.
I've seen this on an Invision Power Board once, except it was only one song. You didn't upload it to the site, you had to link it to an MP3 file kind of like you link images in sigs. And then it would play automatically if you visited someone's profile. Not sure if there's something like that for vB. Personally I find it kind of unneccessary.
It wouldn't cause Database Errors. It'd eat up bandwidth, but no DBEs. To my knowledge, at least. Anyway, I suppose it'd be a nice idea. It would be optional of course, and my only complaint against it would be that it wouldn't allow autoplay--I'd rather not visit someone's page and be greeted by four sweaty boys with guitars. The problem though, as always, is if it's possible, which I don't think it is at this point. I guess we'd keep an eye out for something like this, but until then, like Wolfie said we do allow you to have playlists or songs embedded in your signature as long as they are not set to autoplay. Most music sites will probably allow you to do that.
