Okay, who here is at High School and goneto the pep rallies? At my school they are not mandatory, so I left halfway freshman year but sophmore year they made a rule that you have to go in the commons. I still hate it. School Spirit! *points gun to head* Honestly, I admit I have not a life. I havfe scraps of a life. They do not belong to my high school, so I'm not going to go to a pep rally were it's all "Happy Sexually Active Cheerleaders! Scream for York High School!" and "Tough Football Players! Let's go kick some a**!" I hate these pep rallies, though freshman year a cheerleader fell and an ambulance came. It's on youtube, I'll post it when I'm not at school.
I go to high school since I graduated many years ago, but I did enjoy going to some pep rallies, but not all. Some of them were fun and then some of them were just a waste of my time.
They're required at my school. I was actually in a skit in a pep rally once. I had a lot of fun too. I guess it depends on how you feel about your school, really. If you think your school is uber-******ed, of course you're not going to enjoy the rally. But if you think your school is really okay, you're more likely to enjoy it.
My high school stopped doing them after the class of 2007 graduated. But they used to be awesome. I've long since graduated high school but vividly remember senior year...they grouped us by color (seniors=black, juniors=blue, sophomores=red, freshman=white). The upperclassmen "tagged" the freshman class by drawing on their shirts, painting them, what have you. The principal ignored it for the most part (which was half the reason I came in toting 2 Super Soakers filled with watered down black paint). There was always a huge assembly in the gym and it always had a few acts by the cheerleaders and percussion group, then our school's TV show would put on a special episode for pep rally. I remember it was always held before Thanksgiving break, on the Wednesday we had as a half day before Turkey Day.
I never really got the ones my school had. I mean, I went, but I pretty much hated every minute of it. Our band was god-awful, and the volume hurt my ears. When I could hear anything over the screaming, that is. Pep rallies also made me never want to physically go to a sports game or a concert. I figured, if this is even remotely similar to what happens there, I don't want any part of it.
I don't hate them but, I don't like them either. I mean, the pep rallies at my school can sometimes be entertaining but, they're still boring. I go to a pep rally and I'll probably chuckle but that's it. And, I have to say the microphones are horrible. I was once constantly asking a friend what they would be saying but she would have no idea either. Probably the entertaining part would only be when they have contests. That's probably about it. I'm actually not too fond of my school.
