I'm not being completely serious, lol. This was posted in The Spam Zone.

I guess I just don't understand why people use it. For example, if the reason for using it is because you're busy with, say, schoolwork (this isn't directed at you nor this specific forum, it's directed at anyone with this scenario) and would like to not be bothered, just because you enable it doesn't mean your profile will instantly have a force field to prevent people from contacting you. People can still "bother" you. I've learned to live with that, though.

Most people do it without even giving a reason, though, and that can leave a person that knows the person that went invisible wondering if it was something they did that made them go invisible. It doesn't take that much to post something like, "I've been having some personal issues lately and will be going incognito."

Then there are those people that leave for good, such as Slaughtermatic, but enable invisibility (which was disabled after the move to XenForo). I mean, what's the point of that? I've been trying to find a reason for it, but I don't think there is one. (By the way, this isn't a personal attack towards SM. I'm just using him as an example.)

 

But it's none of your business to know if its weather someone wants too just go invisible or has a personal reason for it. Lots of people don't want the whole damn forum knowing their business and that's their concern-NOT YOURS

Some people just aren't all too comfortable with being approached out of the blue or may not be too comfortable with social situations that sping up like that. I wasn't for quite a while, and went invisible because I preferred to start the conversation myself rather than have people com out of the blue with "PLUMS HI" and be like "i dON'T KNOW YOU oh noooooo ;___;".

There's also the fact some people may just turn it on and leave it. It doesn't really impact their posting habits or even their communication with other people: it's just something they forget about, because it's a minor detail in the overall to them, which is okay.

If people are using invisibility to pull shitty pranks on other people, then yeah, that's just misuse and pretty lame like a 0.002/10 poorly done? But if they aren't a social butterfly or forgot or something like that, I wouldn't worry about it. If you seem them posting, they're there. Plus there's Skype, MSN and such.
