Parents

In the first level of the first game, we hear Sora's mother and so we know that the children do have parents and we know from game 2 that they don't live on the island so when they leave (or even before that when they are going to go out to other world's on the raft) what are their parents thinking? Wouldn't they be worried when their children don't come home for a year?

 

no duh but they might have gotten scatterd along with the island

 

Well the island gets back together obviously if Kairi goes back along with the other kids and do you think their parents knew that they were building the raft.

 

well they might have knowed but they also might have understood that the world got scatterd and that they are gone and kairi might have explained to them wat happened

 

Do you think that they were understanding since she had to go there from Radiant Gardens? And while we are on that topic, how did they travel there? Did they use a gummi ship? I thought back then the worlds were connected so they wouldn't have to but then how was travel done?

 

I was just wondering why never once in the game did he ever mention not seeing his parents, all he could worry about was his friends. Maybe his mom was a real ***** or something...

 

If I had to choose between worrying about my mom and a hot chick with a really short pink skirt....

For me it's family first.

I think it's because they wouldn't need or add anything to the storyline.

Most if any Final Fantasy games have anything to do with parents at all anyway.
I think;X is one of the only ones.

 

I don't think it'd add too much to the plot line if the parents would be put in. At least we know that Sora has a family, and I think Square-Enix did the little mother homage of her calling him to dinner just to show that he was a regular kid.

 

But still, you have to wonder. He's 14 and going to tons of other worlds and his mother doesn't worry. And the island got back together. What if square had a thing where his mom got into the story. lol. Kind of wierd but it'd be intresting. Same goes with Kiari and Riku's parents. Maybe have a level on the island againa nd heartless appear and the hearts of their parents get taken along with the other kids on the island.

 

AND kairi's grandma is in number 1.

 

Well that was before she went to Destiny Islands. And if you don't know, Ansem (or was it Xaenhort) sent her to destiny islands because he thought she may be a princess of heart. However, I'm not sure what happened after that. I don't remember why I know this but I remember the mayor adopting her or something. If anyone knows where ti said that, let me know.

 

I remember the mayor adopting her as well, it might have been in her character description in Jiminy's journal, but I distinctly remember it being in the manga. I can't check to be certain because I no longer own a copy, but I remember it pretty clearly.

Also, the issue of parents in Kingdom Hearts has always been somewhat of an iffy one. Your best bet is to ignore it -- the creators just plain didn't put much thought into characters that weren't actively involved or affected by the storyline. Technically speaking, yes, the parents would be worried sick and vice versa for the kids, but this is a videogame. Common sense can fly out the window, just like physics can.

 

I remember where it was!It was when sora was having that flashback about him and riku being kids.One of them said,''Theres a new kid here,The mayor adopted her.'' Or something.

 

What would they say when they see Sora again with new clothes, magic, drive 20 keyblades. I would love to see there reaction ​

 

Close, they were exiting the Secret Place after they realized that Sora was just hearing the wind, not a monster, and one wanted something fun to do. The other asked if the other had heard about the new girl that was living in the mayor's house.

Anyhoo, it's not really too huge a deal imo. I mean, the game is geared toward children, and would a child really question where his parents were? It just seems very insignificant to me.

 

If his mom was ever included in the storyline, she'd probably be used as a little comic relief.
It'd be incredibly weird if this ever happened, but the result would probably be incredibly funny :P

"Sora, where have you been for the past couple of years? Your dinner's gone cold! And why didn't you take a change of clothes? You must stink, get in the shower!"

 

Well I figured that the parrents didn't know about the raft. It seemed more like they just let the kids run off all over the place. Each kid has their own boat for crying out loud. As for if they were worried, I was under the impression that Sora and Riku were the only two that made it out alive, Kairi made it off the island but died, and everyone else died with the island. Dead people tend not worry about if their children are ok. The plothole comes in the fact that they don't even get mentioned in the series after a few scattered peices in KH1, and none of them are about them being worried. I can understand not thinking of them often with everything that was going on, but to all but forget them is a little too much to swallow easily.
