What would you think of our calander becoming only a Friday and a Saturday...?
Would you like it...? Yes/no and why....
Please, i would like nice, educated, dignified responses, and not some redundant answers.....
    Thanks....:D

haha! i love this thread :D

i do think that even though the calendar couldnt officially be shortened to just two days, we really should emphasize the fun ones like friday and saturday.

people do dwell on the "sad" days of the week like monday and tuesday, but if we think about the happy days more, the ones we dont like can go by faster. :D

also, a good way to make ugly weekdays go by faster is planning cool stuff on those days so they seem better. i always make sure i eat ice cream on my mondays so thats what i have to look forward to! XD

but really... if there was only friday and saturday that would be totally awesome! haha...

That sounds like a really good idea....the having something to look forward to on "sad" days...^.^ (i might have to start that).

I would die because my brain would get stuck in a paradox if it was changed to just two days in a week.....but since Friday and Saturday are the most fun days of the week, i wouldn't mind....:D

You know, it is rather funny, just on reflection, that the reason we have stuck to the 7-day calendar for so long is because the Catholic Church got it ingrained in European society, yet every single day is named after a pagan god:
Sunday - named for the sun
    Monday - the moon
    Tuesday - don't remember
    Wednesday - Woden (Norse)
    Thursday - Thor (Norse)
    Friday - Freiya (? I forget the spelling) - (Norse, I think)
    Saturday - Saturn (Roman)

On topic, though, it would be kind of cool, but I think we might run into just a few logistical problems, like... the entire Catholic church. Also, I think I might have a nervous breakdown if something that fundamental were to change.

    One problem with the idea.

If the entire week was only Fridays and Saturdays, all the work that's usually done in the other five days would be pushed into that 48-hour time period. That includes jobs and businesses as well. All forms of entertainment would be pretty null and void because there wouldn't be enough time to enjoy everything. And the people that work at those jobs wouldn't earn enough to be able to afford to stay open and running.

Eventually, eliminating five of the seven days and condensing them into two would cause stress on everyone, nothing would get done and society would become intolerable. It may be fun for some people, but for anything to function, there would have to be people that could keep up with the increased workload.

It's a good ideal, but both Friday and Saturday would become just like any other boring day. :sideways:

This would make absolutley no sense. It's perfectly fine the way it is. If the system changed it would only make life more complecated
