The Setting

Ok... this is a trial RP, where Organization XIII is being prosecuted for all the crimes allegedly commited during Kingdom Hearts 2.

All normal RP rules apply... Please Read!

Also, since none of us are legal experts (To my knowledge) we will play by the Simplified Ace Attorney Court Rules.

Ok, now read the charges, and the judge should open up the case...

Lets go!

 

"Are the Defense and Prosecution ready to proceed?"

 

Xelax pounds on his desk, showing his determination to show the defendants innocent. "The Defense is ready your honor." He was kinda nervous, his first big court case, and it was defending the entire Organization, even Xemnas himself! This was certainly a big deal...

 

The Judge nodded, acknowledging the Defense's statement. He then turned to face the prosecution and waited expectantly, a pregnant pause in the air.

 

"Do not worry, Xelax, we can do this," said his partnered Defense Attorney, Janexna, confidently, popping a red skittle in her mouth from the bag of the said sweet delights as she glared at the opposition. She was all ready for this case, albeit a bit anxiously, though she was ready to defend the members of the Organization, to show that Sora wasn't completely justified in killing them all. Then again, if the kid had the right IQ in the first place...she wondered where Roxas got his brains from.

 

Xelax turned to his co-defense attourney, seeing her next to him was certainly a reassuring sight. He spoke low so only she could here it, "Why do you think they granted Roxas immunity? You don't think he will testify agasint us do you?" He pondered over this, still anxios to here the charges aganst the Organization. He had a pretty good idea what they were being charged with as he spoke with the prosecution with it before, but he had yet to see it in writing.

"I'm still quite nervous, what if the judge doesn't like my hair or something?" still speaking softly, so only the two could here it.

OOC: Ok... the fact that your eating junk food already is reminding me of Ema Skye...

 

A large Pikachu in a blue tuxedo walks into the building elated."I hope my computer doesn't crash" he thought.
jumping onto the table, he announces his name; Pika_power.
He glances across at the judge, and says in a strange but understandable mix of Pokemon and human "May I begin?"
Without waiting for an answer, he slides across a metal file containing all the work the pokemon had spent doing the night before. It crackles and sparks, and in an impressive flash of light, opens revealing sheets of pawprints.
"I hope someone here can read pokemon!" he exclaims.
Looking around the room seeing the annoyed faces, he hurriedly starts reading out the file, cheeks sparking more and more after each file read out.

By this point, sparks were coming off the table.

"So you see, your honour," the yellow and blue form continued, " there is not really any need for a trial at all, since it is obvious all these nobodies deserved what they got!"

After the talking was over, he slowed down, and eventually looked downhearted.

The electric mouse then noticed that there was a section unread, and perked up at the chance of speaking again.

"Anyway, here is a list of people controlled by Repliku's and my side:

Is all this okay your honour?"

So saying, the Pikachu lept into the chair, trying to look serious by staring at Xelax, but also keeping one eye on the door, waiting for his friend to arrive. This resulted in the pokemon going cross eyed. So instead of giving him a mature, down to earth appearance, this made Pika_power look downright strange.

 

OOC: Lol, well, I'm not familiar with her, but I'm playing myself. And I will be eating junk food xP. Eases the nerves.

"Of course not, you cannot defeat canon. It is explicitly stated in the game, that the main reason Roxas left was because he wanted to find more about his past, and why he wielded the power of the Keyblade, as well as figuring out who Sora is. While I'm sure he was somehow suspicious about the Organization's doings, we still don't know whether it was because they were keeping secrets away from him that he picked up, or something else entirely. Not to mention, a main source, the Kingdom Hearts Two Novels, had made it clear, and I quote, Roxas saying that 'the Organization are pretty bad guys', yet, it is also placed in text, that he was only trying to justify his flight from the Organization. I do not have to repeat what Naminé replied with, because it will be used. I assure you. Unless the prosecuter makes something up and pretends that he knows what were their thoughts on the matter, he will only mark his own funeral," Janexna explained in a low and tight tone, her eyes narrowing, munching on more Skittles as he watched the prosecutor's end, and she growled at what Pika_Powrr implied. The audacity!

"Obviously, if there was nothing to defend against, not many members in the poll and in posts agree on Sora's little killing spree." She gave a dark look at the yellow rat, chewing off the candy once more. Remembering back on Xelax's question though, her face turned back to a happy and casual one, smiling over at her partner as she said in a carefree voice, "I don't think hair matters. It looks crisp and neat anyway, so don't fret. Wait --- how's my hair?!"

She patted her head in anxiousness.

 

Pika_power's ears twigged at what the opposition was saying. "Could it really be?" he though to himself. "could I really do that?" deciding on a course of action, Pika_power slowly leant under the table, tail getting closer and closer until finally it came to rest in Janexna's lap. Tongue sticking out in concentraition, the Pikachu Grops around. It finally found what it wanted, and the tal flew back to the pokemon's chair, prize successfully obtained...

A single yellow Skittle.

 

OOC: Ema Skye is a detective in Apollo Justice, Ace Attorney, and she is always eating junkfood. Especially when she is nervous or mad.

Xelax was thrown off gaurd that he actually went to court to face a talking Pokemon... and whats more, in a Tuxedo. All thier previous conversations were over the phone, so he had no warning whatsoever.

Xelax flinched back upon hearing all the charges... "Wow, those are a lot of charges..." he then recomposed himself. "But I see a flaw in your stategy already." He pointed accusingly...

"You can't charge them with carrying a weapon, if the weapon is part of their body! Otherwise you would be a weapon in yourself for having a lightning rod for a tail!"

Xelax figured it would be best to explain his defense a little better. "Its a cannonized fact that when my defendants "draw thier weapons" they are in fact using an extenion of thier power, the same way you would manipulate electricity."

"He then turned to the judge, Your honor, I move that the weapons charges be dropped, without prolonging that aspect of the case any more than nessisary."

He turned back to his co defense attorney, "Your hair is lovely as always."

 

The pikachu pops the skittle into his mouth without tasting it, all colour being drained from life by Xelax's words.

"My tail is not inherently a weapon, it only becomes one if I put my electrical charge into it. Your clients can choose not to manifest thier energy into weapons, yet they do. Murluxia has shown he can instead make flowers. This leads me to beleive it is a choice thing."

After saying this, Pika_power pulls out a red "Do not disturb" sign, and goes to sleep.

OoC: Last sentence means I am going for dinner.

 

Janexna had felt something scrabbling around under her as she worried about her hair, and stopping her movements momentarily, she put her gaze back under the table, only to see a yellow tail scurry away. She gasped indignantly. And gasped again. And just gasped. Nuuuuuuuuu! That little Pokémon stole her Skittles! Nobody stole her Skittles (pun intended). Grrr. Feeling her eyes tear up as the piece of candy was stolen from its family...and her, she was about to jump and attack in rage until she spotted that the rat had stolen a yellow one. She didn't like yellows. Sitting back down on her seat as she calmed down, a relieved sigh passing her lips, she barely heard Xelax's defense. Paying attention now, she gave a stern nod, predictably agreeing, hearing her partner's compliment and Pika_Power's retort, "The fact is, you can use your tail as a weapon, and it is matter of choice as well, concerning you, if you put any electrical charge into it for attack. So if it counts for those questioned, it counts for you. 'Possession and use of weapons without a license', as well as choosing to use them, can also be given to Sora, Riku, Mickey, and many other characters that possess them. Last time I checked, they have no signed permission from any form of authority as well, no matter what the action for using them are. Your honor, as you can see, it would be counted unfair for those charged not go the same for the rest of his clients. "

She then turned to Xelax once more, grinning at him, in high spirit, "Well, thank you, my friend. I spent many hairsprays on making this bun perfect and choosing the right earrings." She also checked out her outfit, a woman's suit with added skirt, color of a navy blue, with black stilettos for finishing touch. She then went back to her Skittles, having another bag ready, this time, the Tropical flavor version when the other finished.

 

Pika_power is not happy. He does not enjoy having his tail mocked. In retaliation, he scans his opponent's body, looking for a weapon. Seeing something, he starts his defence.
"A tail is like a fist. If you put energy into it, it can hurt people. The intention for it is not to hurt someone, my tail is used for balance issues, and many other things. Your hand is used for picking things up, not hitting. I am not condemning the org for having their power, but for using it to make weapons. As for my client and his friends, the keyblade is a giant magical key. Hardly a weapon. Also, it jumps to the owner's hand if the owner is in danger. He and his friends are not on trial here. Using the "But he does it too" excuse will not hold up here. The org use their power to make weapons. They then summon them. I am not charging those like Zexion, as a book is a bit hard to be used as a weapon. If they knowingly carry/summon something that only is used a weapon, then they have a weapon. They have possession of a weapon, and use them knowingly. Larxane has no reason to need kunai."

Pleased with himself, the Pikachu starts sparking, and tried to snag another skittle, but accidently sends a jolt of electricity up Janexna's spine. He quickly jerks his tail away, and starts to take increasing intreast in the tiles on the floor, trying not to hear the angry voices sure to come.

 

"Hold It!" Xelax yelled.

"A keyblade is in fact a weapon. Its main purpose is a weapon. It is quite possibly the most powerful weapon in existance." he tapped his fingertips together, "Now the weapons of Organization XIII are very much like a fist, in that they are made exclusivly out of the users energy, not some form of killing tool. In fact, they keyblade is a weapon, designed as an instrument of war, and it is not Sora's power, but the keyblade itself. Wheras the Organization's weapon is actually a portion of its users power, and could never be used by anyone outside its user, meaning its not a tool, but a concentration of its user's energy."

Xelax thought for a moment, For the love of goodness judge, drop these charges already!

He turned back over towards Janexna, "Well, I feel kinda under dressed... I only wore a black hooded treanch coat with gloves and boots..." he blushed a little knowing he just told that to a girl...

 

The judge scratched his chin, obviously perplexed about something. Frowning, he looked toward the prosecution.

"All's well and good with your charges... but, do you have evidence or witnesses that prove that the defendants did, in-fact, commit those crimes?"

The judge then blinked, waiting for an answer.

OOC - Sorry, sorry, I didn't see anyone posting so I went to do other stuff, then I got back and saw this.;-;

 

"You're not under dressed dear, you're just fine," Janexna assured after he finished his speech, giving him a confident nod on his direction. "As long as we can do our work, our matter of dressing is not important. I simply took the time to be elegant just in case Axel appeared. Otherwise, I wouldn't have really cared. And OBJECTION, your Honor."

She looked straight at the judge at the last sentence, before beginning. "The tail can work in many other attributes as well, other than balance issues. We have seen, as I'm sure all of us old school kids have, that the Pikachu has used his tail to attack other of your...kind, let's say, as well as making it more deadly by the use of Iron Tail. A Keyblade is a weapon. There's no other way around it, magical or not. It can hurt and kill others, as we've all seen ungracefully done, as well as shoot magical hits such as ice, thunder, and fire. The key is made of hard metal, for pete's sake. IT IS A WEAPON. And even if it jumps to the owner's hands when it is in danger, it is the owner's CHOICE to use it. Not only that, but the Keyblade can also be summoned by will, just as the members of the Organization can do so. They can also utilize it for self-defense among that. Question is, Pika_Power: How do you even know if they make their weapons? It has not been proven in game canon evidence whether or not they make it, or are born with it, just as such with their elements. Unless you can prove so by facts, your point is ABSOLUTELY moot. Sora, Riku, Roxas, Mickey, all possess a weapon and use them knowingly. Do not try to make it appear more innocent on your side. It's been said that the Keyblade can bring peace or ruin upon the worlds depending on the one who wields it. There's no arguments for this, this whole thing is ludicrous! How could anyone not consider a Keyblade a weapon that can be used for mass destruction? They may not be on trial, but I am simply using a comparison of how his clients can use their weapons freely without any charge on the matter, yet the members cannot escape this. Can you see the double standard, your Honor? Surely, you cannot accept this. I cannot believe this is seriously happening, everything points against it. It shocks me."

She could not fathom how the judge could simply take Pika_Power's side on the matter, considering that its been stated that the Keyblade is in fact, a weapon, in game and written works. She wanted to command bias on fault, but remained shut, knowing better. Completely unfair. Unbelievable. This had to be the most stupidest thing she had ever heard in all the court cases she's been in. Books and pencils can be used for weapons if intended for harm or to hit anybody. Unbefreakinglievable.

It was then she felt a shock go through her, feeling her nerves and blood veins numb for a moment, before glaring at the culprit. Though instead of attacking in court, she just smirked , and she pointed out to the judge about the action that was just taken. "I rest my case, Sir." She then went and munched hard on her Skittles, shoving many into her mouth and chewing, fully outraged.

Unbelievable!

 

The pokemon seems deflated.

"very well... I shall drop the offensive weapon charges... It will make no difference to the final result. Shall we move onto the original six unleashing a swarm of heartless?"

The pokemon then fully understands what Janexna said.

"It is always about iron tail, always that goddamn iron tail! It was an unknown attack until Ash and his Pikachu decided to learn it. Then it is suddenly the most popular attack! It is common knowledge Pikachu cannot use physical moves to save their lives unless they have a light ball!"

Pikachu is still sparking, but then resides into a cool smoldering glow.

"I shall continue the charges. The original six unleashed heartless across the world. I dare you to try to find a problem with this fight. Oh, and the original six did know what they were doing, they made a machine to create heartless. The charges do carry over, as all of the org remember their past lives, and are not separate people like Roxas and Namine are. I am curious to see what counters you can produce."

 

The judge blinked in confusion. Again.

"No one's denying the fact that a keyblade, is indeed a weapon, Ms. Janexna." the judge said, shaking his head. "However, the one on trial is not the Keybearer, but your clients. Please keep that, and the charges laid against them, in mind. Unless you can prove that the keyblade has some relevance as to the justification of their actions, I'm going to have to ask you to stop pursuing this line of thinking."

The judge looked at her expectantly, waiting on a response.

 

OoC: If this is going to be in true Ace Attorney format, then maybe someone should explain how the process works.

The first step: Call the witness. The Prosecution has them state their name and profession. After some banter, the witness is asked to testify about a certain aspect of the case.

The second step: The Witness Testimony. Each statement the witness testifies will be listed as separate bullets.

For example:
-Around 10 AM, I was walking to my car.
-And that's when I saw him!
-The man in the defendant's seat! He did it!
-I couldn't believe how he strangled her to death!

The third step: The Cross Examination. After the Witness Testimony, the defense has the chance to "press" each individual statement for more information. If there is a statement that contradicts the evidence, the defense may yell "Objection!" and "present" the contradicting piece of evidence. However, if the evidence is either irrelevant to the current line of questioning or doesn't apply to the matter at hand, the defense will get penalized. A total of five penalizations are allowed (unless a penalty is worth more than one) before the judge automatically rules a GUILTY verdict against the defendant. (Or in this case, the member of the Organization currently in play)

However, since this is Ace Attorney rules, the Prosecution cannot be penalized. They may be reprimanded or have their Objections denied, but they cannot technically lose the case until the defense proves their client's innocence without a shadow of a doubt.

That pretty much sums up the Ace Attorney format, wouldn't you say? :)
