    Tonight my grandma's coming to live with us. And I don't think I'm ready. I mean, she's TWICE as neat as my stepdad (and, trust me, that's really saying something... >.>) and she's... well... old, and I don't know her that well, and...

    @-@

    I feel like my brain just popped a fuse. Seriously, guys. I dunno if this is good, bad; ugly, purdy; east, cold; or WHAT!!! I'm a total nervous wreck - and I'm kinda thinking of going to bed right now so I can avoid the confrontation... Should I really be this nervous? Any advise...? -_-

    hmm.. that's tough. at first try really hard to get along. if things just don't work out and you're fed up, just try ignoring her. it's hard to find agreements with young people and really old people so i don't think you should confront her with problems or anything unless it's like your personal stuff. besides that... good luck! and make the best of it.

    Permenently, or temporarily? The solution varies with the situation.

    As long as you arn't doing anything personal, you're fine as long as there's not loud noises.

    Its going to be ok. Although there is an age and generation difference, she may surprise you. Try to remember that she has grown up in a different society (no computers etc) and that you may have difficulty understanding each other at times, but a lot of older people have had a lot of life experience and aren't as boring as you first suppose. I know a few that are pretty cool!

    I've had my great grandpa come live with me for his last days as well. So I know what you are going through. Its rough at first to adjust to it, but things will get better as everyone becomes accustomed to it. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

    I'd advise against going to sleep to avoid it. It'd most likely create an even more troublesome situation tomorrow ^^;

    Why exactly do you feel guilty? Because you haven't come out of the room while she's been home for a while?
    You could always brush it off as "i had to finish a thing"

    I know the situation is probably over by now, but it wouldn't necessarily have made you sound like a jerk.
    It could've either been something very important and/or you could've been so caught up in it that you didn't notice her arrival.

    Did it work out well?

    Hey, you're gonna be fine. its always awkward when someone new moves in. She will accept you for who you are. I think she will understand that you are in your room due to doing homework etc. She's probably nervous as well as she is moving in with people and she doesn't know your routines or what you like doing. She's probably as nervous as you!
