You know something, this game is pretty disappointing. I just bought it, hoping that I'd be able to play an awesome RPG game for One Piece that would let me go through some of the best arcs in the series so far, but right now, I'm thinking about returning it without even finishing it. The gameplay basically consists of running through mazes, fighting enemies over and over, rinse and repeat. And when you're not doing that, you're sitting back and watching comic strips of the show's events go by, which is shamefully uneventful. I want to play the Water Seven and Marinford arcs so much, but I think I'd rather just re-read them in the manga and watch them in english sub than see it in this game. I was expecting a lot more than what I got with this game. Basically what you see in the trailer is what you get when you buy this game. My personal opinion of it would have to be somewhere around 5/10 or so. I'd have to say that One Piece: Pirate Warriors did a better job than Romance Dawn by a far margin.

It's honestly a decent game what really hurts it is the fact the leveling is so..terrible. Though I also agree that they screwed up in general making One piece itself a TURN BASED RPG. That's the wrong way to make a game out of a series like OP. You know so far the only game I've seen anything gone right with (Anime based game for the BIG 3) would have to be the original Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm for PS3 that really had a beautiful sandbox environment of konoha and that was early PS3 and ever since then the storm series in game story game play has been nothing but rubbish compared to UNS1 Honestly more anime games like OP and so on need to take a hint from UNS we want more of a 3d environment with adventure. For something like one piece this should be fairly easy and to be honest Pirate warrior IS good but the thing is it's not what I expected for a one piece game I mean come on I expected to be able to roam around on an island along with sailing the merry and the sunny not beating bad guys up left right and center with a bit of platforming action from luffy no. They did a lot of things right with OPPW but the one thing they did wrong was making it a dynasty warrior clone. It's good but it feels like this generations batman forever on the super nintendo. Same gameplay as mortal combat and everything...Romance dawn I heard was good unless that's a different OP DS game. I heard one of the games had a really hard leveling feature

Trust me, there is nothing good about a game that only allows you to play in a maze while fighting enemies, and that's all you do. I was trying to think of another game that did something like that, but I couldn't, since I can't think of anything that that only puts you in a maze for gameplay. The good thing for Pirate Warriors is that is was based off Dynasty Warriors, and that game is awesome. Dynasty Warriors has a really interesting combat playstyle, and many other games have done it and done just fine. I was actually expecting the Turn-based battle to be a little better, but when that's all there was, and no events, no different boss types, no cool dynamic events or anything special for the bosses, I was really turned down. I want to give it a better praise, but when I think of the only thing I'll be doing in that game, it keeps me from wanting to play it any more.
