I don't know.. the older anime seems to have a longer run of series and the newer ones seem shorter and the new ones seem to lack quality more than the old ones, i do like new ones, they are cute and please do not yell at me saying like, NARUTO WAS A LONG SERIES >.< or OMG TRINITY BLOOD HAD GOOD QUALITY!! or whatever this is MY OPINION example on quality
In my opinion, there were a whole lot more series of interest during the late 90s and the around the start of the new millenium. The past few years have been kind of stale with an occasional anime worth watching. Of course this is based around my preferences, but I was sure as hell watching a whole lot more series at once during the 90s and early years after 2000 than I am now.
Same here; I've been watching a lot of the older anime like Wolf's Rain and Yu Yu Hakusho. Granted, I like Naruto and Black Cat. Then again, I'm relatively new to anime; I've only started watching it when [AdultSwim] was broadcasting Fullmetal Alchemist; since then, I've gone back and watched some of the more well-known older series.
*gasp* The Record of Lodess War!! lol But anyway...I have to agree with you, the quality and the length seemed better in the past...I suppose before, people wanted to put more effort into it, since anime was relatively new, and now...people just want to hurry and finish it, get down to it...and they could be running out of ideas for new episodes as well, for trying to get something original and completely creative. Or maybe they want to allow more time for commericals. lol
