    I really like music.

Unfortunately in recent times I have been without any music that seizes my interest. Even my old favorites are feeling a little bland right now. I've hopped around looking for new stuff but haven't found much that draws me.

So, I am doing something that I probably will not ever do again and that is ask for recommendations.

    there are rules
    1. I am a music snob. Like hardcore. Please keep that in mind. I know it is horrible. I know it is mean. Please do not be sensitive about this. I do not want:
      1. Christian rock, of any kind.
      2. Music made before 1990. Classic rock is ****ing terrible and I wish everyone would stop listening to it.
      3. Metal. It's not my steez.
      4. Soundtracks. I like them a lot but I'm not in the mood for them right now.
      5. Generically hazy indie rock (e.g. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Broken Social Scene, that kind of thing). I like it i'm just sick of it atm.
      6. Techno / dubstep / that stuff. Again, I like some of it, just not in the mood
    2. One song per person please, I don't want to be overwhelmed. for this reason, you should make an impression. think carefully. if I like yo style I will ask for more.
    3. please look at my last.fm before posting, if my tastes are not in line with yours or if yours do not mesh with mine then please keep that in mind
    4. ( are you seeing where the snobbery comes in )
    5. I LIKE THESE THINGS
      1. violins and string instruments ( esp. in folk punk but also in general )
      2. folk ( bright eyes is pretty cool and other things. laura marling.)
      3. SOME twee maybe idk not feeling it lately but i like it
      4. hip hop subgenres (trip hop yes plz)
      5. depressing / mopey / poetic lyrics
      6. male female combo acts (ex. slow club, the xx)
      7. HARPS
      8. weird stuff (this is a blanket term but cocorosie, xiu xiu, parenthetical girls, stuff that unsettles you a little)
please help me i know i am a handful just nothing is appealing rn

I say just find something out of the ordinary like ambient, industrial percussion, SFX music etc. something you haven't heard before. You can make music out if anything.

Has for unsettling music. I'd check out some silent hill unreleased tracks or haunting ground.

They aren't a easy listen. I listen to it because I'm kinda tired of modern day music because its all starting to sound the same and some I listen to a lot of out of the ordinary and game soundtracks

I didn't want the videos to embed but whatever. =\

This reminds me of the time when a certain user here thought Avenged Sevenfold was hard rock

If you haven't heard it yet, but Once on Broadway (if that counts for just these certain songs). It's incredibly amazing music in my opinion, and it's not really your average Broadway musical stuff. In fact, I could say that this was more like an album rather than a soundtrack because of the way it's written. I think this fits some of your things on the list, too, hehe.

Also, there is a band my sister was in a long time ago, but the name is slipping my mind. It was a violin, cello, and ethereal rock sort of thing. One of their songs is called "You're Letting Go" but hopefully you can find it on Youtube or something.

Surely open theme songs don't count as "soundtracks," right?

There's also this one indie band that I know of and listen to some, but they're not really "indie" in the sense that they're super obscure with mediocre music that's only considered good because they're not "mainstream." They're called Eyeshine and they're more "indie" in the sense that they're self published, are actually pretty good, and they're kinda well known outside of the "indie" community but still not very much in the "mainstream" community. I only got into them because I'm a fan of their lead singer, Johnny Yong Bosch, as a voice actor, and then went to a concert of theirs at a con and actually started to like their music. I guess some of their songs have that "hazy" sound, but it's not the main feature of their music. Key PLUS Words is still going to be the one song that I'm giving you, though, so let me know if you want to hear some of them too.

Oh, and some of the songs from Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson might fit what you want too. The last song is sort of a "rock" version of an old folk song from the Civil War, and the first song is super earworm-ish. Their main appeal is in the lyrics and how they tell the story, though, so you might not be into that if you're not already a fan of the play or Andrew ****ing Jackson.

I can't love you anymore. My soul is crushed.

I can't decide on one. Catch me later and we'll talk. We'll teach you the right music.

If you don't like this you don't deserve to call yourself a fan of music.
