Please, last more than a day playing GunZ. I'd love to see you try.

Oh you mean a game that's entire basis of skill was to be able to perform an animation cancelling glitch in order to win most fights? No thanks.

last time I played was like a month ago and it was almost dead.

Somehow the glad community was still alive though, with their rusty swords and their less than 50 AP <3

    I just saw a gunz video (not this one) in my subscriptions box and nostalgia'd hard ;-;

    I will never be the #17 gladiator again ;~;

S4 League is better and doesn't have such glitch moves. It also features and Phantasy Star Universe aesthetic, but with awesome parkour and chain blades.

And the day any of you beat God Hand on Hard or Vanquish on God Hard is when you can talk about skills. Or if your name is Vivi/Crimson Azoth because he's also actually damn skilled andmayhavekickedmyassonceortwice.

My point still stands, GunZ has nothing on many "true" hard games, it just takes time, all of which Jube listed are skill, you will not beat hard mode of God Hand on luck alone.

I've yet to see someone beat a top tier gunz player on luck alone either.

    Especially in gladiator matches.

Though I suppose in matches that include the use of SGs one could get a lucky RS PB, highly unlikely though.

So you're saying it's hard to beat someone who's considered top tier at a game?
That's pretty cool, that's like that one time where my dad told me that it's hard to beat a star basketball player at basketball.

That was sarcasm by the way

GunZ is a multiplayer game so the difficulty of the game comes from just how hard it is to be good at the game.
What you've showed is just skilled people being skilled, that means absolutely nothing.
If you want to show someone how hard a multiplayer game is you have to explain to them just what it takes to be good at the game and whether that is hard to achieve or not.

well if it's hard to beat them would that not imply that they are more skilled than you.

I've seen people literally enter a room with the weakest sword and armour in the game and destroy everyone without touching the jump button or dashing, while everyone tried that hardest to take him out, surely then he must have been more skilled than them? Especially when this was a common occurrence for him.

The very fact gladiators were generally ranked into tiers of skill implies such is required, no?

Not to mention people would literally train for years to try and improve at this game for a chance to take down Dylan who as far as I know is still #1 glad...

    I should go check that.

What are you trying to say?
That people are good at the game?
There are people who are good at Mario Party but that doesn't make the game hard at the least.

Yeah but he is only the best because he has trained the most, the game isn't hard, the players are, a multiplayer game has no difficulty level, its all variant on who you are going up against, I'm a fairly decent cod player, I beat most people in a public lobby easily, but I don't consider myself skilled at the game, just i've put more time into it than them and there's plenty of people who can beat me still.

God hand for example is made with set guidelines that it is hard, it doesnt become hard because of a skilled person at it walking into the room and making it hard, it starts off hard.

Multiplayer games are not hard, the community is, that's what jube is saying.

    Hm. touché.

But I still maintain it is a difficult game to become skilled in.

I just wish I still found it fun like I used to. That and that I didn't have RSI.

trained the most? He plays once every few months. There are people that play every day for years and don't even come near him.

The community then, I see but, I don't see how that makes a difference, if the community has an elite who are skilled at the game, that makes them hard to beat, I don't see how that is different than say difficult to beat NPCs.

    I just.. Don't

    Explain please. .-.

Because they are not the developers of the game. In all probability, the developers of the game did not plan for people to become that hard to beat. It was the players who raised the bar, not the game itself.

Exactly, you could make Mario party an online fun friendly game, but there'd be one person who would become OP, as their always is in any multiplayer game, making them almost impossible to beat and to win the game, thus it becomes far more difficult to win than developers intended.

(MP is a bad example as that game is 100% bullshit luck in the later games if you win or not, but the concept is there)

Oh that's definitely true, a lot of the earlier skilled players were banned for it, but eventually the devs embraced the new style of gameplay. But still, I don't see how that makes it less credible as a difficult game to learn. Especially considering many people, after 5+ years of training still can't beat a lot of players, and can't perform a lot of moves both basic and advanced. The difficulty was not intentional that's true but it still exists, no?

Hrm. The difference (excluding any luck) being that Mario party is much easier to learn.
