Honestly I'm not sure, I don't have a PS3. And this will sound ******ed because no one does it, but did you look at the manual? :B

 

I actually looked at the online manual. It was somewhat helpful, until it got to the point of not explaining how exactly one enables background downloading.

I suppose I could look at the actual paper manual though. :v
