No Thanks Offer Rewards for Award Winning Videos, and More Categories

Just something I always thought would be fun to try.

Offer awards other than the traditional top five Kingdom Hearts related video, and encourage people to make AMV's of other games and anime's.

I heard of KH-Vids through watching youtube videos of the game, if we encourage people to make a more diverse variety of videos, we could in turn attract more members. Ultimatly, I ask, why wouldn't we want to at least try it?

 

Our video aspect isn't as strong as it used to be in the past. But I believe this can be done in the form of video contests in the same manner as SotW or PotS and PanS, or Role-Play idol.

 

I just believe that the video archive is the best way to advertise and get new members. New members makes a better community and more money for the owner.

 

it's not that it's a terrible idea, but I mean, people already make videos out of other things than just Kingdom Hearts. Sure, it's mostly Final Fantasy and such, but, this is a Kingdom Hearts site. Wouldn't it make sense to work with things that make up Kingdom Hearts? Having a contest other than just the Top 5 probably would make it a little more active in the video department, but we'd actually need something that people would want to take part in

 

Well, yes. Broadening things is brings in more dough, but then again, a lot of things would. Regardless, our video portal is for Final Fantasy/Disney/Kingdom Hearts stuff. We do allow a more general array of videos on the Production studio.

We do have a bit of everything. It just isn't advertised as much as Kingdom Hearts stuff, which is what the site is geared towards.

 

I sort of like this idea. I was sort of thinking of holding an Iron Chef contest but I haven't had the time to come up with everything yet. For those of you who don't know, an Iron Chef battle is a contest where you are given certain restrictions and you make a video that abides with the set restrictions. The restrictions can be many things such as a time limit, a certain song or anime or even something broader like a theme. For example, me and jojoj13 had a quick freestyle battle where we each had to make a video in two hours and then a winner was selected between the two by three judges.

Anybody interested in having such a contest?

There's also the KHV MEP but that's more of an annual thing.

 

What I'm suggesting is, keep the top as it is.

Then, add an honorable mention for "Best General Anime" "Best Video Game" "Best Action Anime" ect. And give awards for them. It broadens our horizons, yet keeps the integrety of our Kingdom Hearts website.

 

It is interesting but I don't do anything but Kingdom Hearts... I was going to attempt something in the future to gather all the video makers on this site.

 

But the Top 5 is for the KHV User Portal. Only KH, FF and Disney are allowed in the contest. For us to encourage other types of AMVs, a seperate contest would have to be made.

Maybe I didn't get it accross that well.

And if we wanted to ensure they were used to advertise for the site, maybe we could make it for the entry to recieve awards, they need to have a KH-V logo at the end or something.

Not yet. But I'm planning to have that IC tournament that I explained earlier. I've actualy got time to do it now since I'm out of school for summer break. I'd just need to gauge interest first.
