Quite abstract. The Kingdom Hearts references are indeed quite evident. The usage of black-and-white in the normal, however, is what appeals to myself moreover the inverted. I would attribute this to the black in the background complementing the white foreground. In general, it is certainly interesting how the piece attempts to blur the lines between foreground, middleground, and background.
