I usually wouldn't have a problem with this but the fact that they wanted to promote online activity but didn't allow this simple think kind of pisses me off. Sigh. I am in denial but I still hope they can pull through.
Um, wow. Is Nintendo intentionally trying to piss off their consumers? Honestly, I was mildly interested in purchasing a Wii U down the line, and unless they end up fixing all these issues, I won't be.
I feel like a really easy solution would be to have a device manager of sorts--you can log onto your account online only and associate/disassociate it with whatever consoles you want. I know Hulu does that and it's quite useful, imo. Besides, support for up to 12 accounts mean if you're at a friend's house, you can always just add your account and remove it before you leave.
PS has something similar - where you can activate/deactivate your ps3/psp/psv to your account via their online service. Its great if your system is stolen, broken, whatever, and you can't deactivate that system via the system itself. It doesn't make sense not to have a system like this in place. Nintendo say they want to take gaming to new places but they gotta get the basics for their customers covered first. Quick question. Can folk transfer their data from their Wii to their Wii U?
