    Oh God...

    Sorry, initial knee-jerk reaction.

I liked Sonic on the Genesis. Grew up with it and still love it. The fact they're doing another Sonic racing game causes my mind to immediately go to Sonic R, which I have seen but never had the "pleasure" of playing. I have seen how badly Sega has done with the Sonic series as of late. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, Sonic Unleashed, etc... 2006 could bring a full blown adult rant on itself.

If Nintendo does it well, I'm happy. But they have to do it right, and the current state of Nintendo games gives me little faith that they will do it right. Make a good original 2D platformer that doesn't go into 3D, that's the bane of Sonic existence. Make it back to what it was when it was on the Genesis. If they do that, I would gladly even maybe buy a Wii U at some point.

Hey, I see no issue with this. Sega and Nintendo have come more close over the years. I mean, I am glad to see exclusive games. If Sonic were still as big as it used to be, it may have or will get more influence to go out and buy a WiiU

Yo whaaaat! Haha, it's like gaming history's greatest rivals shaking hands. Hell, I'm for it. Never really had a problem with the way Nintendo handles their franchises, I just haven't gotten into them much 'cause I didn't care for the Wii. Anyway, it looks like they're not getting any spectacular break-out titles yet. I'm wondering if Sega has any plans for another big entry in the series that they aren't sharing with Nintendo. Or maybe this is a test to see if they trust the big N to handle a true new Sonic game.

Wasn't sure if this needed a new thread since this thread exists, but regardless here's a trailer for Sonic: Lost Worlds.

Also, here is an article that explains a little bit about the gameplay and some other things.

I hope Nintendo does a good job on this. I've been aching for a good Sonic game to come out. The big problem here is they shouldn't change the game (and we all know how Nintendo is on "change"). Any sort of major change that makes this game not "Sonic" will leave me disappointed.

watching that trailer, it doesn't look bad at all! looks like a mashup of Mario Galaxy and Sonic which are both good things.

Wow. Ok, this has my attention. New baddies could be hit-or-miss, but those crazy inertia-defying loops look pretty sick, and I'm loving the mix of modern gameplay with retro SFX. You've got the ball Sonic Team, now run with it.
