No Thanks Night Staff?

ok so since last night i was thinking "were are the mods?" but im not blaming anyone i was just thinking...and then i figured...lol there either asleep or have lifes xD

and thats when i thought

why not have a small groups of mods that are on for the night? and i dont mean like all night, but like me for example. i mostly come on at night (central daylight time) so why not have some people who have the mod powers that show up here when most people are asleep?

this would be aslo good for post and thread clean up, because the sections are quiter and night

you weren't the only one thinking this last night, but the problem is, is that the staff all life around the globe, so there is always going to be conflicts and there probably won't be a staff on 24/7.

Having said that, i'm not so sure a dedicated 'graveyard' shift of staff will be all that good because what if they are only given staff prvileges from this pm to that am? I see too much conflict in this to say we should do it.

This probably isn't the first time something like this has happened, and this is why we have staff. I'd say leave it in their hands.

 

If I ever become a mod,I could run the night shift.I am on like all day.It's only if I ever get mod ranking though.

and agreed with Wisdom Form Guy...its like my DREAM to become a mod and i really want to help this site because i love! this site so much

There would be some dispute over when "night" is.

Also, I laugh at all the people who are like "lol when i make mod, imma do it :)"

If the staff feels they need more mods, they'll get new mods.​

Night as you so call it is different for most of the staff, we live in different time zones so night is really varied, night to me is around afternoon for arc for example, we can't always be on for your night time, if you're european and insomniac then arc would be your night staff, on late and american, if im up early i'd be your night staff but really it'd be morning to me, we can't always be around since we have a pesky habit of living our lives, so you guys need to be able to deal with a troll on your own until we get back, pretty much the exact opposite of what most did last night >.>

 

I come on at different times in the day and usually there are staff around. Sometimes there isn't but a majority of the time at least one or two are about. I don't really see the problem and one incident of someone running a muck isn't that big a deal. If people would just ignore the troll and do other things, pm one or a couple staff members to direct their attention to the problem, and just go on about business, they'd fix it up.

Also, setting up 'night mods' etc would be a hassle. I'd rather have competent mods when they are around than making mods for certain hours so that they 'have' to be around at those times. It's a volunteer job to be a mod or admin, etc. Trolls suck but we can endure. Just stop entertaining them.

 

Exactly. My evenings for instance are CtR, and Vivi's day time, and vice versa, the time difference is 8+ hours between us. We simply can not hire on MORE people in the hopes they work out in the 'evening' Sorry but its a definate NO on this....nice thought though.
