No Thanks News & The discussion itself

I think it sucks that the discussion topics are closed, when a News-topic about the same thing is posted. The discussion ends anyway.

Shouldn't the News-topics be open for commenting and meanwhile the discussion is open in the Discussion-topics? Just look at the topics die, when the discussion is moved to the News-topics.

Commenting is a whole different thing than discussing.

 

Do you mean the news in KH?
OR news such as current events?

For the former, because this is a KH site, of course the biggest news would be about KH. That's why they would be in that section. Having a thread in the upcoming section AND the news section would be like making a thread twice. You can discuss it in the news section.

 

And I say no you can't.

Please see how many pages will the News-topics get. Everyone mostly just comments there.

If your concerned about how one thread is closed when a more news based version is posted then maybe you should be disputing for them to be merged into a single thread instead of just complaining.

Besides, comments and discussion usually end up starting from one another anyway. Discussing the news or just adding your comment on it is just sharing an opinion on the topic but either way a comment can spawn a discussion while a discussion can spawn comments from others.

As I would think, there should only be one thread open for each subject and if a second appears in a different place then it probably should be locked or merged depending on content and/or how far it gets before it's noticed by online staff.

 

How about the html News instead of topics?

It's really annoying and confusing, when 1st topic appears at the discussion-sections and then at the news and we should move the discussion there. Just wanting to make things easier, so I suggest the news to be posted as html and with some kind of comments-box.
