By 'newest,' I mean the SCPH 9000x model PS2s -- the model number should be located along the bottom. Or something.

I just have a few simple questions.

    1. Does your PS2 become pretty warm on the bottom after, say, two hours of use?
    2. How loud would you say the fan is? Do you notice it?
    3. If you ever fast forward in a game or movie for a while, does it make clicking noises?

I'm asking because I have a SCPH 90000 JPS2, and I'm running it without a power converter. I'm sorta worried about it -- when I skip forward in games/movies it clicks; when I run it it gets pretty warm on the bottom (though I have no other slimline to compare it to, which is why I'm asking), and the fan sounds like it MIGHT be working in overdrive... I dunno. USA power is at 110-120v and Japan is 100, so even though I've read that JPS2s can handle US voltages, I'm scared I'm frying it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    very warm
not to loud but depends on the game
    sometimes

    it should be fine
    but all ps2 slims die
the fat ones usually live longer
although ps2 slim are easily fixable
im asuming your ps2 is over 2 years old
if so then it doesnt matter if you take it appart
    the warenty should be up
