Thank goodness for NCIS: LA for telling me what a zero day is, and thank goodness for Chrome and Firefox. Maybe Microsoft will start stepping up its browser game after this?

    What is it?

As for browsers, I haven't used Internet Explorer in years as my browser. Mozilla Firefox all the way.

It's essentially a previously-unknown vulnerability in some sort of digital information that, when exploited, gives the developer zero days to fix it (another naming explanation is that there are zero days between when the vulnerability is discovered and when it is attacked).

Well... thank God I permanently switched from Internet Explorer to Chrome. Nothing at this point can really make me consider going back to that broken browser.

A fancy saying for an instant attack, in other words.

WELP. Maybe I should pass this along to the grandfolks, not sure what they use.

I started using Firefox after a computer programmer friend said to me: "Dear God, you use Explorer?!" He had my computer at the time and installed the Firefox app. I never looked back, I always liked Firefox and this is another reason to do so.

"A total of 8 people were affected, taking all IE users down..."< Made up. Satire. I refused to not say it. IE is probably more widely used than that, but the opinion of it is that I know is vastly that the browser infamously teeters on the brink of "The Worst thing ever according to Pop Culture". It's funny to think that there was a time when Internet Explorer was pretty much all there was. I used it, and it took me some time after Chrome and Firefox came around for me to use them. Yes, I do know the reasons behind this whole mess.

Still, take into account that out of the replies here, thus far, no one seems to be far beyond panic save for worry of older relations who refuse to dismount a dead horse.

This was patched a week ago, in case anyone's curious.

So yeah, make sure to pay attention for Windows updates. I just got the update with the Internet Explorer 11 patch today.

Wait a minute, people still use Internet Explorer?

This just highlights how important it is to pay attention to what goes on your computer.
