Wooo... meh. All these hyping of game reveals that Sony are doing, are getting annoying. Can't they just for once do what Nintendo does and just reveal it then and there? None of this "HUGE EXCLUSIVE YOU WON'T BELIEVE UNTIL YOU SEE IT" that Sony has been doing.

Hopefully if that is it, which has been rumoured for years now, I hope it doesn't play like Smash Bros. With the rooster Sony has, it just wouldn't work properly.

Oh definitely, they do have a very large number of cartoony IPs under their name, but the most popular ones seem to be the more realistic ones. Eh, I dunno. I'd be interested to see how Sony would handle it. And it would be pretty rad to see a fight between Kratos and Sackboy.

 

I really hope it is the Smash Bros style game, I've been looking forward to something like that for quite a while now.

As has been said before, they have many realistic characters (Nathan Drake, Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Cole MacGrath, etc.) that might be present, however, by the same token they have plenty of cartoonish, kid-friendly characters (Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and co, Jak and Daxter, etc.) to work with. How this could work, I don't know. Still, if it's done in a reasonable way, I'd be willing to give it a shot~

I was a bit skeptical about the idea but now that I see it in action I think I can get behind it now. Though I kind of want to know how it plays because right now it looks VERY similar to Smash Bros. Amazing how the guy in the interview there didn't even allude to it.
I really want to see how Jak plays (I saw a stage from his game there).

The fact thay Parappa is in the game means I'm pre ordering ASAP.

 

I foresee Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper, and possibly Solid Snake being confirmed.

And I also bet Microsoft will try to do something like this in the future too.

That's 16, which would be a good number, but they could even expand it further. I'm not saying those 16 should be the core roster, but it's a start.

Possibilities:
A Final Fantasy character.
Wander from Shadow of the Colossus.
Kakeru, the main character from Ape Escape
Yuri from Shadow Hearts
Nathan Drake from Uncharted. The only reason I don't list him in the main list is because I don't think he's unique enough to be a good character. He's a great character, but all he has for fighting is guns.
Max Payne from the Max Payne series. Similar to Nathan Drake. Would be hard to implement.
The Hero from Dragon Quest VIII
Sora from Kingdom Hearts
Raz from Psychonauts

 

I don't see Ryu Hayabusa showing up. The Ninja Gaiden series has been primarily on the Xbox, though of course its moved to be on the Playstation as well. I could be wrong.

Also, Max Payne would be...a bit odd to see, though I could see some good use of his bullet-time?

And the wolf from Okami is named Amaterasu lol

For some reason I'd doubt they'd leave out local multiplayer. It would be unfair on those who don't have an internet connection, and what would be the point of adding online multiplayer but not local? It's like making a COD game with Spec Ops but no Campaign. (well, not really, but you can see what I mean)
