Well I'm helping a friend out with making backgrounds, but i don't really know a way to start to make one. how should i start making backgrounds like this: http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo76/Swxpert/monstro3be.png
Start by thinking of colours, depending on what your doing, different colours will give different moods, then shading parts of the background will give it texture and a sort of layering effect like in the Monstro background, the shading behind the different splodge colours make it look like the insides of Monstro.
