Okay, so we're getting new computers at my house. The task of getting files from one to another has been left to me, and I need help.

I want/need to transfer the files, but I'm very reluctant to do it by E-Mail. Is there another way?

    How do I do it?

    Do I need a cable?

    Does it cost anything?

Where can I get whatever I need to buy?

    Is it complicated?

Have you tried it before? If so, was it easy? Was it quick? Is it reliable?

You could probably use a portable hard drive. I'm pretty sure you just plug that into your computer, and then you can transfer files to it, and then plug it into your other computer and transfer the files on to that. I'm not sure how much they cost though.

get an ipod and store ur files in it, and transfer them to the other PC. OR you can burn data discs and transfer them that way.

Flash drives are great for transfering stuff. Fit as much as you can, transfer it, delete stuff, upload new from original comp, wash rinse repeat. It'll run you like 25-35 bucks depending on which one you buy.
