ok so I'm looking for a freeware software that reduces the filesize of a gif img to a certain kb file size so that I can use it as my avatar.^ ^ but first I want to know if I'm allowed to have a gif as my avatar and in my sig or is that against the rules because I don't want to break the rules?

It's not software, but try this: http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/index.php

As for your signature & avatar,

You may use a moving avatar if you like as well; size restrictions are listed in the User CP under Edit Avatar.

Correct. You may have a GIF as an avatar and in your signature. You may not have two GIFs in your signature.

If you want a GIF's file size lowered, try asking in the Creativity Corner. They're usually happy enough, and it'll be easier for you.

I think P means the Graphics Shop, as it's usually done in Photoshop. I'd really be happy to give it a go for you, though I don't make any promises; sometimes it is kind of hard to reduce the file size and still have the gif look nice.

okay awesome thanks P!^ ^ so would I start a thread on there asking for help with lowering my gif size?

edit: I just found out that mygif img isn't a gif yet because the software I used didn't convert it correctly but I have an evaluation version type software called avi-gif converter that I'm gonna use after I'm able to buy the real version later today, so I'll be able to convert it then and then ask for help after.

hmmm...well yeah I'll give it a go but first I gotta convert it to a gif first which I explained in the msg above so once I do that you can help me k.^ ^ thanks misty!^_^
