Chain of Memories Namine can also cry?

I've just noticed while watching the ending of Chain Of Memories when Namine is sort of 'hovering in the air' that after she looks at her little finger while talking to Sora, she smiles, and a tear rolls down her cheek - WHAT!!?? Have I missed something, or are Nobodies not meant to cry?

I know in other Kingdom hearts games, Axel and Roxas cry - so does that mean they are all special Nobodies with some kind of heart left??

 

Namine is the most special of all the special nobodies. She is basically made out of nothing at all. Of all the nobodies we've seen so far she has shown the most feeling and must in fact have emotions. It's quite possible she cried and it really wouldn't surprise me, considering what we saw in Chain of memories.

Now do all special nobodies have this ability? I doubt it, Xemnas doesn't seem to be that function. But maybe the correct trigger never revealed itself.

 

exactly and you must remember that she is kairis nobody but kairi is a princess of light thus creating namine wen sora released his and her hearts. no darkness = no heartless = altered nobody

 

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, it's just I can't get my head around how Roxas, Axel and Namine can cry- since they are Nobodies, with no heart. I've thought about it, and this is what I came up with -

Roxas can 'feel' Sora, and with that comes Sora's emotions, so maybe part of Sora leaked through? - like on Deep Dive when Riku calls out to Sora throuhg Roxas, and Sora replies

Namine probably, because there is no darkness that resides in her

Axel, because he remembers how it felt like to have a heart, and because his friendship was so strong with Roxas, it triggered his emotions?

So do you think they cry because of memories instead of emotions?

 

When did Axel cry exactly? If it's in the anime then it isn't canon if you can find me the cutscene in which he cries it'd be greatly appreciated

 

Right - its in a cutscene in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix - Roxas and Axel are talking on the Twilight Station Tower and near the end of the scene, Roxas starts shining and says 'Goodbye, Axel'. When it flicks to Axel, while he says 'Goodbye, partner' - you can see in his left eye it go down his cheek, straight down from his tattoo - look really hard. Then after that it hits the stone on the tower, but you have to look really closely, since its hard to see because of Roxas being all shiny =/

 

that's the one I was thinking of yes I saw that. From what it looked to me it may've been as you said or someone above "Roxas helped him feel emotion" and a theory of mine can go with his which is "the ventus connection"

 

Just because they don't have a heart doesn't mean they don't have emotions! Come on man, she's just a little girl

 

Roxas and Namine are special. DiZ said so in his reports. They are special because they are a cross between Sora, a keyblade wielder who willingly gave up his heart and returned and a Princess of Heart. The rules do not apply to them. Axel, on the other hand, is being affected by Sora/Roxas's heart.

 

Yeah, I agree with you - and I've just realised - Axel could probably cry because he remembered from when he had a heart how to, whereas when Sora said to Xemnas if he remembers other feelings apart from hatred, he says he doesn't.

 

In the Kingdom hearts universe it does. A heart is needed for emotions. Other wise the Organization wouldn't want them so badly.

He's saying that nobodies can remember how they would act in such a situation, so your videos would support his claim.

I disagree with him, because while they can feign anger or disappointment, that requires no natural actions from your body, you can easily act that out. Crying, on the other hand, actually requires the person to be sad. Fake crying is rather difficult, and requires conscious effort. I can't see Namine bothering to put effort into displaying emotion, especially when she wanted t o free Sora of her.

Monopoly is arguing that the 'emotion' displayed is just an act that nobodies like to put on. We have a theory that it's because Roxas/Sora's heart is affecting him. There's more evidence for our side than for his though.

 

It's been said that they can 'simulate' emotion so maybe they do it without realising what it is they are doing? As someone said 'We have memories of what it was like to have a heart'. (Sorry if this has already been said)

Pseudo-emotions were my theory long ago.
I believed that the Nobodies did have emotions, just fake.
They said that they pretended to feel because they remembered what it was like to have a heart.
I believed that they did it so often, that they started doing it without realizing it so they did feel.
In the manga, they really do have emotions, but they are unsure because they don't have hearts.
Namine however, is aspecial Nobody. She really does have emotions.

 

The emotions of your average Organisation member are acted, and nothing else. For example, let's take the death of all of the C.O. members. No one in the Organisation cared about them when they died (except the special Roxas), but Demyx happily slacks off and shows the emotion of laziness later on. They basically have endearing character traits which appear to be emotion at a glance, but for anything below basic social interaction, they are heartless.
