    Is this fanart?

Because if it is and you don't have permission to use it, I'm going to ask you to have to take it down. Sorry.

lol... what I'm telling you is a basic way for pop-out signatures. Also, this is assuming you have a fresh start on making pop-out stuff. If the steps I told to you didn't work, then just ask!

    1) First, make your background. Save it as .png or .jpg (usually .png for better compression and better quality). *
    2) Then go to file > new. Set the width and height to be BIGGER than the background you made. WAIT! Before going on, press the + sign beside "Advanced Options" and in the "Fill with" box, fill it with transparency. Press OK. **
    3) Now go to File > Open as Layers. Pick the background that you save as .png or .jpg. Your background should appear now, with the checkerboard as the background.
    4) Now get the render you have, and just move it over the background you have (if the render is too big, resize it. Left-click the render, go to Image, then pick Scale Image. Then just scale it down.) until you like it the way it is.
    5) Now go to Layer > Anchor Layer (or Merge Down, whichever is enable).
    6) Now save the pop-out sig as a .png or .gif! I'm pretty sure you can save it as .png (or .gif, but .png is better for its compression). ***

    * - If you are new to GIMP, then finish up your background with everything (text, effects, etc.).

** - How big to make your transparent background depends on how big you want the render to be. For example, I got a 350 x 120 signature. Then the transparent background is going to have to be about 450 x 150. (Usually, I add 100 to the width and +30 to the width if I'm making a pop-out signature). For the render, you got to scale it down til you like how it is, move it around, and etc. (it's basic, you'll get what I mean once you try.)

*** - For the checkerboards to go away, you must save the image as a .png or .gif. Go with .png for compression, or .gif for animations. However, most pop-out aren't meant for animations, so save it as .png. Save it as any other, and it won't have a transparent background. No ands, buts, if, whatever.
