Well, as you guys I know, we switched Internet providers, and I'm trying to change my e-mail for MSN, but I can't remember my password, and it won't let me send a password reset to my new e-mail. Any help?
Alright, i'm going to try and help you through this step by step. Step 1: Go to the msn homepage Step 2: Try to sign in Step 3: Click "Can't access your account?" Step 4: Select "I forgot my password." Step 5: Click "Reset Password" Step 6: Enter the email address of the account you are trying to reset Step 7: Enter the security characters and then click next (do not worry about capitalizing) Step 8: After successfully entering the characters and clicking next, click on "I can't use any of these options." Step 9: Your email address should appear in a entry box to the top of the page Step 10: Enter a new email address (i.e. one that you have the password to) in the lower entry box As for the rest it involves you entering various info that is personal to you. If you do not have this info or enough of it to allow msn to verify the email account is in fact yours then your best bet is to contact msn directly. If you contact them you may or may not be able to get your password reset. Other than all this I would just give it up, for the legal way of doing things >.>
Well, I haven't gotten anything back, so I don't think my e-mail went through, because I clicked send a few times, and it didn't do anything. It didn't load a different page, pop up a message telling me it was sent, nothing. Since I have Windows Live Mail, if I just created a new account for MSN, would I keep my contacts since they're in Windows Live Mail, too?
Wait, so you're asking if creating an entirely new account will import the contacts from your old account automatically? I don't get it.
I thought Windows Live Mail and MSN were the same thing... Unless you're talking about the actual program Windows Live Mail that is used to access Windows Live Mail/MSN/Hotmail. In which case... I'm pretty sure conatcts are still tied to your account. But I'm not 100% sure, so you'll have to try and see for yourself. I reccommend backing up your contacts if you can.
Amber is right, your MSN account and the account you have set up with Windows Live Mail are probably the same thing. MSN is technically called Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live Mail is just an email client. Have you tried all their password reset options? And if they ask you to give a secondary email that you can have the password sent to, make sure you use the one that you specified when you registered the account.
Yeah, sorry for the the confusion. I have Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. I was asking if I made a new account on the MSN website, if I would keep my contacts since they're shared between the messenger and mail clients. Also, yes. However, the only one that would be beneficial to me would be the first one. I tried Nights' suggestions. I gave them the e-mail address of the account now on their records, which is Fairpoint, and then my contact e-mail address, which is the same, just through Charter instead of Fairpoint. I answered the questionnaire with as much information as possible, even giving them a password, although I'm sure if it was right, and it was denied. I don't know what else to try.
