Four months ago : Toriyama explained that there are a number of reasons they displayed the message at the end of the game. One is that the game has a number of Paradox Endings hidden away, and they want players to first look for all these endings. Another reason is that FFXIII-2's world will be extended through download content, meaning players can expect a long play experience. They plan on continually releasing download content, said Toriyama.

Kitase: It might seem that the line “To Be Continued…†means that Lightning’s chapter will continue in more download content, but we are doing it in a different interpretation.

So ... what Kitase is really saying here is "it might seem that the explanation we fed you ourselves four months ago was just a lie by omission to sell as much DLC as possible". I can' t say I' m surprised, it felt like blatantly obvious marketing cant.

There better be another game! It sucks that they left it the way they did, even more so with the Lightning DLC. Not that I want a sequel anytime soon. I'd rather they take their time and plan it properly. XIII-2 fix'd a lot of the issues with the first game but it backpedaled on a lot as well. Though, if it had an ample amount of Fang in it I'd be happy either way.

We have to remember that XIII-2 expands towards FNC as a whole and not just the events and world of XIII (which was mainly self-contained, yet hinting towards the mythos)

So they might make a XIII-3 or they might continue the Fabula Nova Crystallis. I'm hoping for XIII-3.

@Patman: They're trying to not be obvious. But they're...not doing a very good job. To be honest, I didn't really see anything wrong with the DLC until the Lightning Episode (which I'm still debating on if it counts as 'optional') . But the rest of the DLC's seem like things they'd release in Novellas or some supplementary stuff that would only be released in Japan. I'd rather have DLC than some obscure novella.

Even though I've yet to finish that Lightning DLC (Man, I don't want to fight that guy anymore), I would really like another XIII game that improves on XIII-2. I would comment on the fact that there should be a sequel, but I probably need to beat that DLC before I can comment on it properly.

Anyway, I hope that they do it.

    Wooooooo! Hells yeah!

I really want to see what they would do with the ending of XIII-2. This gonna be good.

Or we could let the idiocy of the entire Fabula Nova Crystalis project (seriously, two games that play themselves, one game that was only released in Japan and a game that is quickly becoming the new Duke Nukem Forever) die and move on to projects like Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts III?

Different departments so it doesn't even really matter on either of that.

Obviously FFXIII-3 was a given, with the trolltastic cliffhanger of XIII-2 if they tried to DLC their way out of it i'd been pissed. I look forward to it none the less.

Its still taking up news space and company resources when that space and those resources could go to potentially better projects.

(Moved this over to Square Enix since it's well, Square Enix lol/merged this with libre's existing thread.)

As much as people are frustrated by the fact that they keep focusing on FFXIII I'm just happy that they are going to try to bring this to a close pretty soon with Lightning's story...unless they intend to keep making them and it becomes like FFVII Compilation with like 30 spin-offs or FFXIII-13. Then that's a little much. I do like Lightning, I really do so I don't really mind so much. Besides, it would probably be really cheap a few months after release anyways. FFXIII-2 is already $20 so that's a plus.

My thoughts exactly. I want a new world and new characters, cause I'm honestly tired of XIII, and Versus XIII is taking forever to come out, and Type-0 still hasn't come out of Japan.
