Most Overrated games?

Games that everyone said are awesome but you think are garbage.

 

Grand Theft Auto 4. It wasn't that amazing, but I did enjoy myself playing it.

While I'm at it Halo. It's not that great.

 

Halo 3. It's good and all, but people treat it like the Messiah of gaming.

 

Final Fantasy VII. Seriously, it wasn't all that great for the PS1. There were better Final Fantasy games, the characters just stuck in everyone's mind I guess.I wouldn't say it's garbage though.

 

metal gear solid 4. it was an ok game but i just didn't enjoy most of the cutscenes, i was tempted to skip quite a few scenes on my first play through. though, i liked the improved controls they put in it.

 

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm

The gameplay was so boring and broken I nearly died. But the graphics were greatly done.

agreed, i hate all the mini game type phases, i keep getting stuck

Sims 2 on PS2 sucked, you don't do anything except make them emo and when you kill them, they don't go away, all the others are good.​

 

Halo 3 OMG! My friends keep going on about it its like "Arrghhh shut up!" (but then again I go on about FF and KH to them :3).

Oh and Sims, yeah I find that game kinda pointless but lots of people like it too.

Some of these are actually good and fun to play, but they are obviously overrated.

 

Im gonna risk death by tray and say Fallout 3... It wasnt that good... The third person camera sucked balls as you moved faster than the animation could keep up with... It looked like you were sliding on ice and trying to stop... There was too much hype about it and it just didn't live up to my expectations... Sure, there's a **** load of destruction an mutated things running around, but it just didnt seem to click with me...

Guitar Hero 3 (fun for a short bit, not garbage just boring after a bit)

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (Too short and easy, not garbage but it was over rated)

Gauntlet Seven Sorrows
The Sims (ps2)
LotR Conquest
Those ripoffs of top selling games that I keep seeing, like the ones that copy Ninja Gaiden, CoD.
Half-Life 2 (and its episodes)
Team Fortress 2 (the spy's character is cool beans though)
Left 4 Dead
FFX & FFX-2
WoW

I could go on but its pretty much a rant then XD
Btw, these are IMO.

 

That's overrated? I'm pretty sure everybody agrees that it was a piece of garbage.

 

yea, all of them (though i never finished Portable Ops so i'm not sure if that was something essential to the story).

Oh and Where is My Mind?, I think you kind of overdid it.

 

Halo, GoW, WoW, FF7 (Though I wouldn't say it was garbage, just over-hyped), Pokemon, GTA, GH, Runescape. Most of these are still fun to play even if they are talked about too much.

Star Wars Battlefront II
Spider-man II (Awesome!)

 

Let's see...WoW, Maple Story, Halo 3, Sims and FFVII. Yeah they're all fun and all, but it gets boring after a while. Then it just gets annoying. Wouldn't call it garbage but really...there are better games than those.
