What moment from the Kingdom Hearts series do you find most nostalgic?
Also, what moment was your favourite?

I've been thinking over the past few days and I've come to the conclusion that my answer to both of these questions is the moment in Hollow Bastion when Sora becomes a Shadow Heartless. When I was younger this completely took me by surprise and I spent about two hours just running around the castle completely and utterly stoked that I could play as a heartless. Looking back I suppose that's somewhat goofy, but I found the sudden role change pretty nifty and emotionally stimulating.

For me the most nostalgic is the scene in KH1 before the first Riku fight in Hollow Bastion where Sora has his "My friends are my power" speech.
I can't pick a favorite moment in the series though.

The most nostalgic moment.....hmmm....I'd have to say when Sora first met Goofy and Donald. That's basically where it all started I guess. And I couldn't pick a favorite moment.

The whole "My friends are my power" speech brings back memories whenever I hear it. (Including when ven says it in BbS) I'm not sure as to my favorite though... maybe when Lea gives his definition of Immortality....

Now this is a tough question for me I think I have to say the "my friends are my power" scene in KH1 because it set the whole theme for the entire series for me.
Favorite moment easy. Hollow Bastion KH2 Demyx. When he dropped his emotion act. That scene just felt real to me and I never can forget it. His "Silence traitor" was a huge surprise when he a so cowardly until that moment. He basically gave up his heart that moment because Sora and co bullied him by saying he didn't have a heart and calling him a wimp. That is why I have chosen that as my favorite moment.

I guess for me its the Title screen with the music. Just seeing and hearing it brings so much memories. I'm so glad this was my first PS2 game.

When I recall the events from the first game, the most nostalgic scene to me, is near the end of the game. Th Billy Zane cut in particular. A lot of the first game is pretty memorable for me, namely the riku battles, but the ending scenes were what ended it off nicely enough to warrant the sequels that followed.

Ansem: It is futile. The Keyblade alone cannot seal the door to darkness. Kingdom Hearts! Fill me with the power of darkness...
(Kingdom Hearts' doors open with dark smoke coming out.)
    Ansem: Supreme darkness...
Sora: You're wrong. I know now, without a doubt. Kingdom Hearts...is light!
(Light appeared from Kingdom Hearts doors)
    Ansem: Lights? But why...?

I feel most nostalgic whenever hearing Billy Zane's voice!

And my favorite moment had to be the whole "Darkness is the heart's true essence" speech by Billy Zane and then Sora's comments after it. "I know the heart may be weak, and sometimes, it may even give in. But I've learned that deep down, there is a light that never goes out!"

"So you have come this far and still you understand nothing... Every light must fade... EVERY HEART RETURN TO DARKNESS!!!"

The most nostalgic for me.... either when I hear Dearly Beloved on the main menu of visiting Traverse Town for the first time.

Favorite moment? When Lea got a keyblade. 'Nuff Said. :P

The part when Sora has to stab himself through the heart and the cutscenes that follow are the most nostalgic to me, one of my favorites as well.

The most nostalgic moment has to be when ansem said "This world has been connected"....then the destiny island music starts playing

Unfortunately I haven't completed DDD just yet, but I've seen the cutscene thanks to Youtube, and I'm stoked to finish it.

Understandable, it's hard to pick favourites when it comes to this series... I absolutely loved that speech though. Very well done.

Makes sense, I thought it was pretty interesting how they were always just MOMENTS away from each other. Frustrated me to no end during my first play through. I remember running back to the previous area frequently, continuously hoping they'd still be there. -.-

Unfortunately I hadn't ever had the chance to play BbS, but I remember watching bits and pieces on Youtube and given the opportunity, I'd imagine I'd love every second of it.

I Love scenes like that in this series, they seem to hold so much power and emotion in every essence of their cutscenes, even in those intended for comic relief.

Right? No matter where I am or what time, if I hear Dearly Beloved, Simple and Clean, Sanctuary, or Passion I immediately stop what I'm doing and experience waves of chills and goosebumps. Such raw energy in those songs; such deep and powerful meaning. By the way, I also really dig your Silent Hill related avatar.

Speaking of which, I visited home earlier today for the first time in a while, and put in Kingdom Hearts again. One of my saves was JUST before that part and I absolutely HAD to play it again. I can relate wholeheartedly.

You mean you actually battled Riku-Ansem again? If you can remember, did you have any difficulty the first time you fought against him?

Yeah, I battled him again. The first time I fought him when I was younger, it took me at least 2-3 tries. The save that I was on, I'd reached the max level so it was somewhat a bit easier.

To be honest I never had any difficulty beating him. Probably because of three reasons:

    1. I use block most of the time so I can counterattack against him.

    2. When Riku-Ansem uses Dark Aura, I usually jump at random places and I successfully avoided the whole duration of the attack. :P

and 3. I played BbS first, so he wasn't that hard for me. Unlike Terranort... and Vanitas...

I'd do the same, just leave the title screen up and work on homework or go about doing something else. I remember recording it with my very first cellphone so I could have it as a ringtone, needless to say for back then, it turned out very low quality and sounded near-mutilated. Still brings back good times though!
